I can relate to that, the little van thing (elvin?) has caught me out a few times! I remember reading about a WMG project exploring the ways to make EVs audible and how they should sound. Not sure if this was linked to yourselves or something different though. I'm guessing you don't drive the polo to work? I'm sure I would have noticed it around!

Those little vans are quite funny, think they're made by Mega (http://www.mega-vehicles.com) - we have a Tata vehicle that competes with them, which is a lot more robust - as you'd expect from something that's metal rather than plastic!! Watch out for the 5 electric Transits the Uni's just bought too, the Site Services team drive everywhere flat-out in them on campus.

We've not had anything to do with the Elvin project directly - there's still no legislation about EV noise generation, so we're not expending too much effort on it at the moment as there are much more important engineering challenges to deal with!

I drive the Polo to work occasionally, though that's rare in winter. So if you see a green squareback in Car Park 15 it's most likely to be mine.

They do look incredibly flimsy, I guess they're great for campus use but really wouldn't want to venture out in one.

Advantage of starting work at 8am is you don't need to go in the multi-storey bit. Even my standard ride height Saab scrapes on the ramps if I have to park up there. Our EVs are often stashed downstairs in CP15 - that's where the charge points are.

I'v got a small list started off as a saturday boy in my local butchers from 14 untill i was 16, worked part time at a timber yard while my gcse's were on which led to full time when i got kicked out of sixth form for skateboarding round the college while intoxicated, left the timberyard, tk maxx for around 5 months was in the process of joining the army, went into training a week after my 18th birthday, been in 2 and abit years now and thoroughly enjoy my time calling in the guns to blow up half of salisbury plain.

I'm a software engineer working on drivers for our new range of GPUs (graphics) which will end up in your mobile phone/TV/satnav etc.

It's pretty much exactly what I've wanted to do since back in school so I'm happy! Tough at times and tedious at times but I never dread going in. Only trouble is I'm stuck in an office all the time and the only travel prospects are to visit other offices.

Had the usual string of crappy shop/warehouse jobs alongside school/college/uni since I turned 16.

I can't really be bothered right now to read what you lot are doing sorry.. but I have to say the chap on the first page who said he works in a garage now he hates cars (I don't know how to insert a quote :( ) actually made me laugh so hard
