8v clocks with 16v engine

Featured Replies

Can you run 8v clocks with the 16v engine conversion, I've tried everything to get the car started, immobiliser, timing, crank sensor but it just wont fire.

a mate came down an did a vagcom, recoded the immo code in the ecu. still wont start just turns over.

it still comes up with p1570 key signal too low

Does anyone no if i need to change the clocks to 16v, to make the engine run at all I'm running out of options, or if incorrect wiring in the rear lights could affect it as i have been told the mk4 golfs prevent the car from starting if any wiring is incorrect or faulty the car wont start.

Has anyone else had this problem

any help appreciated

Dom

have you swapped the chips over out of the key when you swapped the ECU?

yeh its all swapped over its deffo immobiliser problem now gon get the ecu paired up with the key see if that helps.

i didnt swap over the igntion module changed it now it turns over an then cuts out.

clocks are not important to the running of the 16v (i'd assume all other 6n's as well), i run my afh on the stndard injection set up and have no issue running it with mk3 clocks.

if the car is starting for a split second and then cutting out it is 99% an immob problem.

just a bit of a check list for you to go over mate, you will need to use matching transponder ring, immob box, ecu and chip all from the same car. just to make sure that you have swapped all these over.

i would guess that the 6n doesn't have any kind of fail safe to tell it if any wiring is dodgy other wise my ecu would know that about 90% of the wiring it should have isn't connected

yeh all bin swapped over mate checked all wiring again an again, I'm askin round now there must b a way you can bypass the immobiliser, I'm sure polos have been stolen before. lol

Mate had his immobiliser removed when he got his ECU chipped, tested it on mine and it ran 100%, not sure where he got it done but it is possible.
