No, they care about everything, even factory fitted optional extras. So yes you need to declare them!

sorry ladies, thats what the insurance company told and my mate is a insurance broker, do me a favour call your insurance up and ask them, they told me straight "we only care about modifications that comprise the vehicles safety or affect the performance in anyway shape or form"

I've declared everything, including my vw alloys, and even the fact that i have no rear seats in. Some may say this is overkill, i say better safe than sorry, if they know everything then they are less likely to tell me to fuck off if i have an accident, if they can get away without paying they will, so don't give them an excuse!

You have to declare everything. if you dont declare even the smallest mod and you have an accident, your policy could be void.

You have to declare everything you do up your car weather it's a cd player to alloys. Reason being if you add alloys wheels or a cd player your car going to be a target for the cd player or wheels to be nicked!! Anything that improves the handling or performance you have to yell them. Best bet is unless you wanna pay silly money to mod you car and tell the insurance company you can or you can risk it and not tell the insurance company but risk having your insurance policy voided and when you get a new quote it be stupid high. Not telling what to do as in tell the insurance company or not but I thought I put my input in be best to drive safe save for mods and get your no claims up

you may not be charged anymore for lots of mods but you SHOULD declare anything different that comes off your car from the production line (technically you SHOULD declare different brand tyres to what vehicle was developed with.)
