Right went to my car today to carry on working on it its been in a storage container for around 3weeks but its started to gather small pockets of mould on the carpet and the part above the coin tray I'm wondering is it due to the container not being dry at all times even though the car is closed off and locked up? Is there anything i can do or put in the car to soak up any humidity in the air and has anyone had anything similar with putting cars in storage?

That's the problem with shipping containers, the air doesn't move in them so the moisture just condenses.

Assume you've got no electric in there to run a dehumidifier?

Nope just the container itself mate i think it was to do with me not opening it up for over 3 weeks.

well my friend had a problem with moisture in her car, so she got some tights, poured some in, tied it all up and sat it on the dash. hasnt had any problems since haha!

Hmmmmm might think about that also looking into getting some silica gel sachets and storing them where the materials are most likey to grow mould.

bbq charcoal I've heard is good lay it on some paper in the foot well

btw you can get big versions of silica gel, but as others have said, cat litter and charcoal are just as good. charcoal will also stop the interior smelling, as it traps odurs

got a massive bag of these at home, whacked some in my mrs 9n, stops the window misting up overnight.

yeah, probs 6"x8" and about 2" deep. got a couple spare. dont want a lot for them. enough to cover post and buy me a pint or two. pm me if you want, can get some pics of them tommorow
