I know all the things I want to do to my car but I'm looking for a a bit help from the guys (and girls) of Oxford that will help me either out of the kindness of there heart or for a but of dosh. Also would be awesome to have some polo maniacs looking over my car as it doesn't sound 100% right so want to fix what is wrong.

So if there is anyone in the Oxford area (I'm from Bicester but looking around anywhere) that can help me, meet up for chats and help me fix/do up my car would be appreciated.

None of that is too much of a problem. Bodywork is best done by a professional IMO (I know of a good one over in chacombe, near Banbury). Which are you hoping to do first? Which wheels are you going for?

Yeah most of this can be done just need to get hold of it and some money also!! Haha.

Lenso wheels would be my fav or like Ronals but with 5 spoke. Also in gloss White.

Easiest first I guess would be headlining and door cards. Black racking with White handles and sun visors. Door cards I want smoothed and with White leather parts on. Just need to smooth it an buy the leather!! Know anywhere I can get that? Or how should smooth cards down?

I'v never done headlining in a 6n, but I know the mk2 is a pig! However, I think the design is mote simple on the 6n.

The body shop is tubbs dubs (Garry heartwell). He specialises in air cooled restoration, and hi work is good. He did all my arch folding, and will be going back again soon for some more. I used to work for him too

bit of info on the fk lights

they dont fit to well on mine (6n2) and my adjuster broke when allinging them but other than that they are awsome!

just go carefull when adjusting!

also you gotta run a hid kit through them to make the most of them!

Like at the moment its a bumpy texture and I'm hoping to try and sand that bit out so that I can spray over the top of it. Cheers for enquiring about that too, I think it will be real expensive so may just be worth me going with faux leather to be honest. I already have two leather seats that I'm trying to sell but noone wants, as I've got a different pair which is front and back, not as good but to be honest is perfect for what I want at the minute.

I need to buy some wheels first which I've been trying to buy already white ones but i guess it wouldnt be too hard to paint them myself or get peeps to help me right??

I had a look at the website but it doesnt work properly but I will keep trying as it looks sound.

To sort your de-texturing, you could try plastic primer, followed by high build and then rub them back smooth. The trick would be to fill the texture instead of removing it if you get me. Get hold of a spare and have a go on that first off

Yeah that's sounds a good idea. Trying to do all my modding by august as I think thats when my insurance is due to be renewed and I wanna be honest with it all. Lol. My insurance is gonna be sooo expensive.

I try and avoid big meets at the min as I don't think my car is modded enough so will be a shame :(

I would definitely go for coilovers instead of springs. You can get cheap ones off ebay for around 160 delivered, they give you a 120mm drop, I have them on mine and I don't think there that bad. Or go for more expensive ones which will give a better ride, but you can't normally lower them as much.

Regarding lowering your car, what do you want? A mild drop? On the floor? Comfy ride? Stiff ride? You generally get what you pay for regarding quality and ride comfort. And coilovers will, in most cases, allow lower drops, but harsher ride.

I ultimately want to get adjustable coilovers. I want to go quite low but not do I'm scrapping. I was thinking like 40-60?? I'm not sure :/

If your not going that low there isnt much point, but id recommend TA techniks for lowering alot, but for comfort they are wank!

80/60 isn't that low and you won't be scrapping on floor with that.
