Hey guys, basically, i plan on keeping my 6n2 for a good while now.

But the 1 litre puts me off a little bit.

Would it be way too much hassle to convert it to a 1.4TDi?

Surely i'd have to change the fuel lines, petrol tank, engine + gearbox as a minimum?

Worth it?

Big money?

Could i get a CP'er to do it for me?

Be better off buying a tdi to begin with and fitting the bits from your old car.

Not sure you'd have to change the tank or pipes, I've never done this when I've converted from petrol to diesel, the pump might need changing but even so that's not a difficult job to do I'd imagine if the 6n2 is the same as the 6n.

Obviously any thing engine related under the bonnet would need changing as well as the gearbox, engine bay loom. On the older vw's the petrol and diesel model of the same cars use the same interior loom and its just a case of swapping the clocks over. Whether this is still true for the later cars I'm not sure but you would have to change the clocks at the bare minimum, you would need the imobbilizer set up from the doner car.

It would be an easy enough swap for a competent Spannerman as its a straight swap from one 6n2 to another so its all plug and play.

As Phil says it would be easier to just sell the car and buy a tdi, but its not always about what's easiest or cheapest option, guess that's why I never have much money

Hmmmmmm i seee, that's very unfortunate, i would kill for a 1.4 TDi Engine in my car, i don't have the money right now, but if i get a fulltime job, i may just have to do it!!
