Yeah they're alright, the axle stands are pretty good in those.

think i'll get them bought another set for around £3 cheaper and stands and jack look naff ha

The stands look ok but i wouldn't bother with the jack as i've worked on cars with the small jacks for a few years and realized buying a proper (big) trolly jack makes all the difference.

When you get the set check the quality of the stands especially the welds. Because i've seen some of the cheap ones crack after a few uses and after all your life depends on them supporting the weight of the car you are working underneath.

Just spend a bit extra & get yourself a proper set & a good quality trolley jack

I find axle stands much of a muchness really, I have four of the yellow halfrauds ones that everyone seems to have and they are fine.

But when it comes to jacks it's a different story. Nowt worse than struggling with a cheapo jack that doesn't go low enough to get under the car easily, doesn't go high enough to get the car as high as you want it and takes about five million pumps of the handle to lift the car this limited amount.

I got myself one of the clarke aluminium racing jacks from Machine Mart at Christmas and it's worth it's weight in gold. Costco sometimes have some decent ones for good money too. A mate had a nice twin cylinder low-profile one from there which was about £70, really good but it weighed a ton.

I've had various other jacks too and there definitely seems to be a case of getting what you pay for.

oh and also, I've had one which was the same as that in the ebay auction the original poster shows and it was totally rubbish!

tbh, if you not using it often thats fine.

Its all good going out and buying a awesome jack, but whats the point if its going to be sat there for most of the time?

I agree, the proper low pro jacks are awesome, mate of mine has one. But tbh, i manage perfectly fine with my crappy budget clarke thing.

Admittedly, I need to buy a new one now as its starting to fall to bits and very very slowly goes down. But it has taken 5 years of abuse.

and, if your in a confined space, the big ones arent great as you cant get enough leverage. The cheapo thing I'm looking at getting is about £50, low entry and has a swivel handle thing on it. ( i often have to use mine in a small council garage, sometimes a pain to use a jack because of no space down the sides)

I wouldn't really call a fifty quid jack a cheapo one though. The cheapo one i had which was the same as that eBay one cost me £16. Fifty should get a decent one!

Its cheap for a low profile one.

the clarke one i had, came as a set with stands, crawler, big container to drain oil into, magnetic part tray and something else. Cost about £50 few years back.

All bits from the kit are really handy. Car crawler is awesome!

I got one of the halfords ones the other month. either pro or advanced, i cant remember. Id reccomend it though, its effortless to use. You might get a hernia lugging it about though.
