Hey guys recently been having the orange oil light come on and beeps. I seems to come on while motorway driving at higher speeds. I have repeatedly checked the oil level as is about midway up the dip stick. It is due a service in 200 miles or so not sure if its related. It comes and goes, so when the cars sat on the car and then used hours later when colder the lights gone and stay off around town but soon after getting on the motor way hitting 80+ it comes on. Have recently replaced the front lambda and also coolant temp sensor. No vag-com errors

Any loss of oil pressure should really be checked out by (temporarily)fitting an oil pressure gauge,as if the actual oil pressure is low (as opposed to an electrical fault causing the light to come on) this could result in expensive repairs.

It may well be that the oil pump is 'emptying' the sump quicker than the oil can drain back down, you can check this by simply reducing your road speed when the 'fault' occurs, and seeing if the light goes out, if it does, and then comes back on at sustained high speed, this may well be the problem.

One possible way of avoiding this problem, is to keep the oil level at the 'high' mark on the dip-stick - but do NOT overfill with oil, as you could then contaminate the cat.
