Ol' birty dastard

it does have obd 1 (i think) but its quite basic and you will need a 2x2 cable as it doesn't have a 16pin diagnostic socket.

tbh your best off with the free vag-com software and a ebay cable with the 2x2 adaptor. ;)

ah shit miss read, from memory mk3's do have the ports to hook it up, but dont expect anything exciting, if you have to ask the question if it has the ports, then the info it gives will be equally as useless.

polo45 thats the info i was looking for, where might te pins be situated, I've pretty much dissasembled and reassembled the whole car but found nothing (well i am wondering about two cables that have no apparent use under the steering wheel)...

Just unscrew this little compartment and the pins should be attached to the compartment...

Cool dude, I'm talking about the mono 1.0 but i doubt its much different from digifant...

Unscrew what? Just stick your hand up by the bonnet release and there hanging down.

nope, mine are held in place by plastic screws on top of that little compartment or whatever its called....

take it yours is left handed then, right handers dont have it. tbh the only error code that i managed to get it to display was the hall sender one and that was only after i disconnected it.

It really is a basic system, almost pointless paying £5 for the lead.

Oh than my bad

Yeah i figured as much, how much info could you get from an engine with only a few wires and sensors anyways :p

When I still ran an ECU i fitted a big OBD port and tucked the 2x2 plugs out of the way, its the only section of my ECU loom I've not bothered removing.
