Here goes, this first post will be short and sweet as I'm getting ready for work haha. Anyway to tell you all about macey shes a coupe parade who has been owned all her life in west wales by me and 2 people i know quite well. She has had various engine reincarnations including 1272mh on a weber 32/34dmtl. Then a frankenstein 1272 mh with gt bits and bobs with peugeot bits and nova bits on r6 carbs. (All done by the previous owner). She is in a lovely mix of blue its lotus azure blue from the mk1 elise. It usex to be running phil-j suspension on the front and mk1 coilies on the rear. However the shocks were dead on the front so i changed those for some sexy eibach ones ( shame there hidden in a tube) and i removed to coils from his 60mm front springs. So roughly down 80-70 at the moment. Also nearly finished my afh conversion on r6 carbs so pics will follow showing what I've been upto. Cheers. And enjoy reading :) jay.

Haha cheers mate. Needs bit of tlc on bodywork but shes getting there! My plan of action lately has just been to get jobs done rather than write about doing them. I will try and keep this updated and add a load of pics of what I've done etc. :)

About my washer bottle, I'm not sure if its standard or not but I'd imagine so although I haven't paid a lot of attention to it tbh. I'll have a look in a little and see if its got any vag markings on it and let you know mate

Cheers fella. Little update. Silly me didnt check heaters were working after conversion and tried today and i have a airlock :\ silly me. Which port on the afh pipe junction goes to which heater pipe just so i know I've got the flow right.

Long time no update but as some of you may have noticed I've lost first gear so I've been pre occupied with finding a box. I decided to raise the moral in my head and painted my wheels for a change and turned out pretty well i think.

Love the montreal wheels, preferred them in White though. Ditch those m3 mirrors too! Otherwise, that's a nice motor. Loving the orange g.box!

Stunning coupe mate. I have just picked up another coupe S after 6 years in other VW's and loving it. Will you be attending volksfest this year? I'm only down in swansea and would love a nose around the AFH conversion as its somthing i will be doing as soon as i find an engine thats close enough. Can you honestly say its not too bad on fuel? as i see some people claiming really high figures !cant be as bad as the 25mpg I'm getting at the moment anyway lol :-)

I had a mishmash engine in previous running the same carbs and box,based on a mh/2g bottom end with gk head and gt cam etc and the afh is alot more economical for two reasons. You dont need to drive it anywhere near as hard to have fun and you can stay in gear longer etc due to the torque curve difference of the two engines. I find this has more mid range power now. The 8v was power from 4-8000rpm.

Alright leggy, ye i love my montreals.glad i didnt go the ats classics route. There dtm cup mirrors and i hate them,.my other half hates my orange wheels,i love them :). The gearbox unfortunatly lost first but is still pulling hard in all other gears so will be staying for a long while yet as 2nd pulls well of the mark.until i find a 8p box anyway. P.s i wont becat volksfest as its her birthday.... But i hope to be at a few shows this summer.

Little update. Took macey out for a drive on saturday as shes been parked up for 3weeks. Did about a mile before the bang...... :/ the driveshaft flange bolts sheered which in turn let the big spacer type block on the shaft to let go and bounce of the underneath of macey and the shaft signed its signature right through to the output shaft.... :( ill get pictures of the damage when i go to pick her up tomorrow. Bloody good job id already ordered a box because of 1st going ay :) so if anyone wants the gear sets from a gt also the final drive there yours for the price of delivery.

Ouch, that sucks but who needs first? Second and some gas and you would been off! Hell, I got my dads Punto going from a stand in third a few times!

Well its now monday and the back axle is off a new shaft is on order, seats being sorted, interior tidied, paint ordered , brake flexis in progress, and a few other bits including g.box ready to go in well shes gonna look good at vw action i hope :)
