Had the first iphone four years ago, upgraded to the 3G one soon afterwards on the promise of a few issues being ironed out, but hated both for being such limited Fisher Price devices.

Nowadays, it's possible to pack them with apps, but they remain toys. Not that i'm not impressed with being able to ask it vocally how best to get rid of a dead body, and it tellme worringly well how best to do so, but still. The simplistic little butler isn't really my style. I'm not sure an android is, and a touch screen certainly isn't - my machines at work have huge touch screen monitors and they piss me off enough, without my phone feeling equally lifeless.

I know plenty of people with iphone 4S' and they don't appeal. Plus i want a top end camera, and don't say Sony because the wife's is so stupid i want to smash it up whenever i have to touch it, it's just not user friendly.

Was with O2, but I wanted to add an option onto my contract. They told me they'd have to start a new contract and that'd be about £10 more a month and lose half the things I joined them for in the first place.

So I went to T-mobile, 30 day rolling contract. 3 days in my voicemail still didn't work, my internet didn't work and picture messages didn't work. They told me they'd sort it out 3 times. Then I got a bill off them for £200-odd. Now they're taking me for a dickhead to try and get a PAC code off them and I'm with Virgin.

A year on, I'd say moving to Virgin Mobile was about the best choice ever.

£10.32 a month gives me 600 mins, 3000 texts, 3000 minutes to Virgin mobiles, and a Gig of Internet. It's a rolling contract, and the best bit is, you phone them and the furthest away they are is Ireland.

Mikey I think most of the decent phones these days are touch screen. I was just as sceptical as you seem to be at first, but having little other choice I got one and after the first couple of days of getting used to it it was fine. Turning my phone sideways gives a nice big qwerty style keyboard which you could never have on a non touch screen phone and it makes writing text messages or rambling forum rants such an effortless task

Just don't buy a blackberry and you'll be fine.

Them Sony ones are meant to be pretty good also

With O2 currently and never had any problems with them but buying a new phone soon and looking at a network I'd never heard of and that's Giffgaff.

As I'm only interested in pay as you go, and they also run on the O2 network looks good from my point of view. Heard good reviews also, we'll see.

Guy i work withs on giffgaff. never had a good signal although hes always raving about how good they are.

I'm on vodafone and they're top notch for any info/problems i have. got a samsung galaxy s 2 on contract and imo, its an awesome phone. does everything apart from suck you off and only ever have a bit of an issue if it gets damp.

been on O2 in the past when i had crappy iphones and i wouldnt go back to either. customer services was shit and the phone has more glitches than a epieptic at a disco!

I've been with a couple of networks :) first phone was on o2 with there 100min-100texts for a tenner :) Thought this was ace back then but now......

Been with them for 7 years and only just recently have i been having problems They dont give a flying monkeys if your on pay as you go when you ring up customer service! Honest to god i went flipping metal at this one guy, he didnt know what he was doing then had the cheek to hang up on me. I rang back got the EXACT same guy, who then hung up again.

Asked for a manager who didnt know what he was doing then didnt get that problem sorted, refused to let me know his disition on the matter (bare in mind i had spent over a tenner ringing them) Had one who forgot they hadnt hung up on me yet, heard them bitching about this "akward customer" they just had. I asked for MMS settings for a phone they sold me, nothing hard and said hello, thank you ect. Ended up shouting OI I CAN STILL BLEEPING HEAR YOU.

There clocking off time is that. They just hang up, if your calling pay as you go. But there pay monthly lot are alot better, and spend time with you. Evening after shutting :)

Soo my reconning is o2 are crap on P&G but great on contract

On the contrary I've been on 02 P&G for a number of years and have an iPhone 4, I've had no problems with either.

I'm gonna be a scence kid here but.... iphone. i had 3GS was a great until it fell out my pocket and i ran over it in my car luckily i knew a mate who had enjoyed his drugs a little too much.. turned out he owed money and needed it quick, i noticed he had a brand new iphone 4 16GB for his birthday ( when they first came out) 1 year warranty box ect... offered him £180 and he bit my hand off lmao anway a year and a bit on and paying £14 a month contract sim with 500 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet i can not fault o2 at all been spot on

I've been with Orange for over 15 years and have no complaints about the Network or their

customer service...for me it's been all good.I always get a cracking deal and a decent phone

i am undecied as i've not been with many and i'm after my first contract phone so i was just wondering who has had the best experiance with there phone provider

The best phone network is the one that has the best signal coverage for you. Go into phone store and ask them to do a network coverage of your area/town. They can tell you exact info for all networks within your area for 2g and 3g data also including BT openzone wifi that's including in some phone contracts.

When taking out a new contract you have the right to request this info although no one ever tells you!

And for phones, learn about the grip of death for your specific phones, some phones lose alot of signal depending on where you hold it and this is apart of many phone reviews, sounds dumb but using hands free/headphones will increase your signal

Anything was gonna be impressive next to my old N86 but this makes the son's iPhone 4S look dated.

Then O2 amazing signal shit customer service and deals about 4 years ago,

Past 4 years Orange on 18 month contracts but customer service is good but signal FFS its so shit its unreal I can loose signal during a phone call up to 3 times over say a ten mile journey its shit,

end of the year i'm going to 3 for the signal and deals or at a push o2 ...

in the past ve been with vodaphone, orange, 3, tesco and tmobile, now I'm with o2 and have been for the past 4 years, the only problem I've ever had is when the internet fucked up for everyone last month but we all got a £10 instore voucher to cover about 5 hours inconvenience :)

Phone make I've gone for an iphone4s after having a galaxy s2, HTC desire s, sony erricson play (the PSP one) and a nokia lumia. really do prefer the iphone :)

Vodafone - Sim only, 600mins, unlimited text + Intertnet + 1GB BT wifi - £17 (bought iphone 4)

Well i've set it up to prefer automatic wi-fi, which i use at home and work, so i got unlimited internet on the phone and hardly ever use it

£36/month, unlimited calls & texts, 1gb of Data - Free Galaxy S3 - Tesco but on 02's 'on & on' Contract.

02 can only offer the same but want £100 for the handset.

tesco are my favourite to deal with, UK based call centres, so friendly and helpful, dont pester you 24/7 and fuck you off and their signal is good

t mobile are best for signal. 3g practically everywhere and if you cant get signal it swaps to orange anyway. plus orange/tmobile are getting 4g soon so you're futureproofing should you get a 4g capable phone

Well that happened to mine on like the second evening - kind of a high definition Z X Spectrum games console loading with the lines.. Was a bit of a concern, thought i was gonna have to reject it as a common design fault.

But being under warranty, i thought i'd just keep an eye on it, and it hasn't done it since. I'm wondering if it's happier now i've stretched the battery's legs, dunno what it was, but as it's fine now i'm gonna keep it.

action broke my iphone, and then I'm meant to be gretting a replacement tomo and just fell out my pocket and destroyed the screen, fml
