Comments:

Bought this off Demolover last August with the intention of re-vamping it straight away, but didn't have the money and other commitments meant this winter it got abused. I fitted it with some Borbet Atwee's shortly after getting the car, but they poked on the front too much for my liking with the G40 brakes, plus they were a bastard to keep clean. I took all the stuff out the back, changed the pads and discs, got a new steering wheel, put a sunstrip in and left it like that for a while.

So I bought some new rims, some paint, polybushes and ARB blocks, and a few odds and ends the other week and set about tidying it up!

Plans this summer are to get it painted put some sparco's or similar in it, and hoon it around all summer.

Then next winter upgrade the suspension to GAZ coilovers or similar, get a new cam for the 3F engine and play around with it to get the most from the Injection system, perhaps put it on bike carbs, but i'd rather keep it standard looking lol. PPP Stage 3 subframe and maybe a bolt in cage.

Few pics for now of it along it's journey with me so far...

Excuse the crap pictures, most are off my phone!

Just before Barney sold it to me it looked like so-

When I got it back, removed some of the stickers and put the Atwee's on

Notice how bad they sit on the front...

Painted them grey and gave them a polish...

Progress.... The colour looks nothing like it does in the pictures I've taken, looks so vivid in sunlight, completely different to how it did before, was surprising how much it had faded in 20 years!

OSF wing needs re-doing as there are a few stonechip marks I missed, and the roof needs re-lacquering as some lacquer dripped out the gun when spraying.

Gonna flat it all back and Polish it up tomorrow/sunday, then start cleaning up the stuff I've taken off and rebuild it!

The iffy bits of paint have been re-done now. Going back next week for the paint to be flatted down and polished up!

Started undersealing the underside of the car today, removed all the rust from the filler neck and repainted it, then undersealed the shit out of it.

Made a start on cleaning up the inside of the arches as well, got alot of work ahead of me, but it's gotta be done!

Arch trim and wheels should be on by the end of this week, so I will get some updated pictures then!

Those new wheels you have a TSW Omega's.

Those new wheels you have a TSW Omega's.

Nah, I don't think they are. The spokes are different on the TSW rims. They have an indentation around the edges, mine don't.

Good stuff man. Excellent to see 8-)

One of my favourite colours for definite.

Will look amazing when you get it rebuilt.

Them wheels look like speedlines or whatever you call them...

Rimmage got painted today with some rattle cans. Didn't come out too bad really, supposed to be gloss black, but looks more Satin now it's dried.

Tyres go on tomorrow then I can Finally get them on the car! Only Single wiper conversion, arch trims and stonechip paint to go and the outside is basically finished... (for now!)

very nice dude.

excellent work. was always a nice car. 8-)

but is looking much happier now.

Stonechip painting the sills tomorrow, undersealing the rest of the underneath of the car + arches.

Tyres arrived, got a problem with them going down though, bead is fucked around the edge of the tyres so gonna have to order a new set :( Throwing money down the drain I could be spending on other bits!

Painted the interior handles and winders as they were abit scratched, gonna dye the door-cards and paint the vinyl part of them for now to tidy them up abit and match the rest of the interior, until I get some carbon ones.

Paints getting flatted back and polished on Sunday most probably.

Couple of pictures....

Got some new mirrors from Demon Tweaks, but they are taking an absolute age to arrive, last thing I order from them with their extortionate postage costs and slow postage.

I was after a set of those wheels!

Looking good this, keen to see it all together!

They were nice wheels, just looked really shit on the front because they poked so much, really annoyed me.

All looking sweet man. Will look like fresh motorsport styley which suits this shape polo down to the ground. Sensible fitting wheels for the win :-)

8-)
