engine oil for 1999 6n 1.0 polo

is CASTROL MAGNATEC 10W40 the correct oil for an oil change in the above car cheers

As your engine has hydraulic tappets, it has been said on this Forum, that they don't like Magnatec oil, resulting in a tappet rattle. Not having used this oil myself, I am unable to confirm this.

If your engine is in good condition (not using oil) you would probably be better of with S.A.E. 10W30 or even 5W30/5W40.

theirs 125k on it and dosent seem to be drinkin oil i dont know when it was last serviced so i want to get it done cheers

Castrol oil isn't very good anyway, especially for the price you pay. I used it in my old 6n and made it a bit more tappety, especially on startup.

I use Fuchs Titan supersynth in my car(s), 5w-40

Unipart 5w-40 works fine for me, in both my polos

5w-40 it is then fully synthetic or semi synthetic cheers
