Blown my cash on this beast. 2000 Rossi rep Rs125. Its pretty nippy and the speedo doesnt work. classic RS125 then! Paid 1100, which i think is fair for a tidy, if not old 2 stroke that doesnt feel like its about to implode. Its pretty much bog standard, and tbh its probably gonna stay that way. Maybe some rimtape and different sprockets, undecided really.

Plans are to fly about on it, fix the few minor bits on it and flog it when car insurance is less of a joke.

Good bikes! Id get an jim lomas exhaust, powervalve, do the cdi mod and put a 34mm carb on. Will be around 25~26bhp with those mods. Make sure you put good oil in it (castrol tts), and dont go over 6k rpm until the thermostats opened which is about 55c!

mate of mine had one of these in green and white, deristricted was damn rapid for about a week until it blew up lol. probably due to him being a plank and doing what deviance mentioned.

now has the newer 07 model which apparently is dog slow comparitively.

I've heard the newer shape is piss slow as well, think the revs are restricted digitally due to some eu bollocks. Might beon about something completely different though , I'm not sure.

True although they look a lot nicer than rs imo, can't beat that dual rear light.

Always ran my 2ts on fully synhthetic. apart from my DT, didnt last long enough to fil the oil tank up . The mito is a fine looking machine, but they all seem to be plagued with electrical gremlins.

Mito's aren't a patch on the RS in my book.

Got nothing going for them at all, the newer 525 shaped one is a nice looking bike though.

Keep ontop of polishing the frame on the RS as well, I'd use something like Brasso, I found that on my old one Autosol was abit too coarse for the high polish of the aluminium. Don't let it sit there idling to warm up either, you want to get it moving as soon as possible, but keep the revs under the powerband until the thermostat has opened.

i had one of these before i got my car was so much fun to ride for a few months as i bought one that was claimin full power (33bhp) i managed to hit 115 on it but didnt last long until it blew up and needed a rebuild if i was u id keep the power down n not mess about with it so it doesnt spend more time in bit than on the road :)

I'm gonna keep it bog standard, means ill save more money for the jetta. Bought it mainly as a commuter with the option to go on abit of a scratch when the weathers nice. Getting to grips with the riding position now, proper keen on it.

I fully destroyed my 50. Like everything broke on it. Including snapped crank due to me trying to get max out of it. Did hit 70 though LOL

I used to race these in superteens :) great bikes! I have loads and loads of spares and engines with just over 30bhp (class limit) if your interested?

Also, wire the powervalve wide open with a cable tie and its great fun to ride, there is nothing and then it snaps! Not so good for riding around town though!!
