I swap mine at mot time back to standard

No. But you might get lucky and the tester won't notice them.

think ill bang them on, and just swap them back over when the time comes

Swap them for what it's worth, no point in a fail just for plates. My old one failed on german plates last year, wrong spacing they said.

Swap them over. Never know when vosa will pop round with there lube out, so id be highly surprised if it passes with em.

mine passed with them on :)

what about driving on the road with german pressed plates? can plod pull you for them?

ill get uk pressed then lol

I would think the po po would have more important things to be doing but keep a set of standard plates in the boot. If you get pulled just give it the 'Oh sorry I didn't realise I'll stick these normal plates back on'.

doesn't work tried that one!

once they see them they will do you for them, it's their job. :disgust:

Correct I've been done £60 fixed penalty :x

You cant have the german pressed plates as the car is not german registered. Pressed plates are fine for MOTs as I have standard pressed plates with no markings what so ever and mine passed yesterday. Yes they where noticed as I asked if I needed to swap them lol.

What is the point in this "german pressed" plates malarkey... waste of money and time and we all know there not legal, We're not Germans, just get UK Press Plates.

surely carrying legal plates in the boot and saying you can swap them there and then is just admitting you know your in the wrong and breaking the law LOL.

^^ correct

"OH YEAH! Sorry officer! I went to a car show on the weekend and changed them over to the pressed ones. Totally forgot to switch back. I've got the legal ones here i can change them."

Sorted. You can get away with a lot of things, it's all about the what you say and the delivery of how you say it.

Or just do what I did... buy legal plates and not have to worry when ever a police car is behind you!

whers is best to get plates from and cheapest lol.

mine passed with them on :)

I just got done for mine :(

HAHAHA!

Legal? I got mine from dubmiester. took them bloody ages to send it through to me but i'm told by others on here that was just a random one off issues and everyone else has been happy with the service.

15quid a plate. so 30 for front and back metal pressed plates.
