I'm tempted into doing something with the manifolds to unleash abit more noise. I dont think i could live with a decat everyday though..besides i'd have to get the lambda probes mapped out or toast them every few hundred miles

What's it like finding performance parts for the 3.2? Is very much the same as the MKV R32? It's a nightmare trying to get bits for my 2.8

Pretty easy to be honest..it is the same engine, Just a mk4 golf with a pretty frock really.

Stuff like exhausts are pretty popular on them so doesnt take milltek long to knock a few up.

Nahh, it's got an extra 12 valves and 30 more ponies and twin cats very much like the 3.2, in the US the mk4 Golf got the older 12v lump for a while I think so it's a faff even getting a service manual for my engine

Milltek do full systems for it but I'm a cheap arse, mainly the complete lack of 2nd hand parts which bugs me :p Most bits are fairly similar to R32 parts but with annoying minor differences chucked in to aggravate!

I'm guessing when you've decatted it, you need to code out the lambda probes in order to prevent problems....

You do, all the 2 lambda probes aft of the cat's do is tell the ECU if the cats are working correctly, nothing to do with mixture etc.

So a remap sorts this so you dont get a engine light on.
