1984 Polo Coupe Zender (GTI Engineering)

Featured Replies

I posted on here a while back, finally got thing moving again after a while. Got the car back up on to a new set of wheels/tyres (though these are only a temporary measure and it will be going back on to the original tarantulas) need to sort brakes, carb and windscreen and then it can go for an MOT to see what else needs fixing, fingers crossed...

Thanks, it will get better :) Got lots of ideas for it but would still be interested to hear what other people would do??

different, would look better lower, and wheels like you said, but i like it

i like it to be fair, but i do think it needs to be colour coded!

if you ever desire to sell them side skirts PM me and we'll get a deal done

Thanks for the comments, Sorry (youngprodigy) won't be selling skirts (or anything else off it) just yet :) I agree that it stands high but until someone gives me a lowering kit for free it will just have to wait.... this is it on the Tarantulas :)

Whilst waiting for parts I re-sprayed the grille at the weekend, not good in the rain!

where are the skirts actually from? i want a set!

Thats looking good :) I like the kit... if you ever wanted to sell ;)

Hmmm, in two minds about the kit.

I think the front would look better if the original bumper was removed.

any engine bay shots? Or spec list :-D

Thanks again for the comments :)

Mark, no plans of selling but if times ever get tough I'll let you know :)

Max, Wait till it's lowered (just enough to control the gap on the wheel arch, it's huge at the moment!) and tidied up and then I think the kit will really suit it :)

As for engine, it's the 1272cc, needs a tidy up but i'm sure there are worse out there...

And has a very leaky Pierburg carb but should be sorting a new accelerator pump diaphragm for the offending article...

Thanks :)

Just read a thread about "Where to place your Clubpolo stickers" so thought I'd pop mine on (I've gone for the traditional 'just behind the driver' look) but also had some old Zender stickers left, couldn't really decided what I wanted to do with them so just tried one on the front bumper, just wondered what people thought?

Thanks...

That really is well cool. I think the Zender sticker looks good.

I hope this is going to be at the polo show! :)

thanks mark, I would love it to be there but stopping it might be a problem, no brakes :(

I would like to come down from Birmingham on the train though, where can I get the details? never been to a show before...

Brakes are overrated!

Not totally sure how to get there by train.. Northhampton is the nearest station and then its 5.6miles away from the station

What's up with the brakes then?

Cool as FUCK 8-)8-)8-)

thanks mark, I'll find a way of getting there! and thanks for the article, I'd forgotten about that, it sounds critical but it sums up the point of the car, its not a 205gti (unfortunately) but it is exclusive, more so these days :)

thanks phataz, they're the kind of comments I like :)
