Newbie member so thought I`d pop up some pictures of my news Polo SDI.

Not sure if I will be modding it though as its got a few dents and scrapes (as you`d expect at 98K!). Not sure about its power output either as the VW book says 68bhp and the HPI says its a 64bhp - engine is an AGP according to the stickers.

Anyway here`s some pics;

Dunno yet, would like to tweak it but because its an SDI I'm wondering if it would actually be worth it!

Would like a nicer interior (9N GTI?) and a decent h/u plus some 16" MG BBS stylee alloys and some lowering. That and replacing and renewing all the ratty bits on it now like the window rubbers and a few interior trim parts.

9N interior won't fit without modifying how they mount in the car i am afraid. 6N, 6N2, mk3 golf, lupo, 6k/6k2 ibiza, all fit in the car with no mods.

Being an SDI there isn't much to be done in terms of tuning but it will be reliable and retrun good economy so just make it look nice :-)

LOL, just a shame its a E model!!! but then it only cost £600. Already seen some MG ZS BBS style alloys for £150 on ebay so might get them. Just a question of getting it to look a bit nicer and sorting some of the dents out. But its pretty straight otherwise. Not too worried about getting lots of poke from it (might just get a nice exhaust on it) and eventually swap the motor out for a more pokey plant - did have a Mk 3 Golf TDi which was RR`d at 130bhp with a few simple mods on it.

Being a bit of a VeeDub newbie was thinking of a half-leather interior if there was any models with that - my first car I swapped the GTi half leather into it and it made a hell of difference to it. Don`t want full leather as i find it a bit uncomfortable.

Also considering a boot lip spoiler like on the Superb to give the back-end a bit more style. Dunno if the Curdoba ever had one.

Thats cool, will search that out then, was thinking of going for 16s anyway as the MG ones (the BBS style ones) seem quite good looking. Also considered a few others but can`t afford to go tooo low as there are some pretty massive and steep sided speedhumps around my way plus some of the more lethal small ones (where there is only a small hump in the middle of the road each side) so dont want to wreck the car.

Our Superb has crunched a few of the humps and its only got a 30mm drop on the stock 18" wheel & tyre size.

nice base.... only seen a few around, but, never seen one in that colour.

search for the harlequin classic loon as that had a cordoba spoiler i think. also there was a white one floating about on here with one fitted.

mines dropped on rx2s. buckets, couple other small cosmetic mods etc... love it. never see any others at shows so it can stand out.

Hum, makes me wonder if mines a bit of an oddy then - looks like both your mirrors are the same size. My car`s drivers mirror is a narrow failry long mirror but the passengers mirror is tiny! Little miniture square shaped one. Looks a bit too small to be a proper Polo mirror.

drove one of those superbs the other day, sports mode flappy paddles just a bit of a ship when it comes to cornering. on another note used to have a skoda felicia in that green called kermit green hahaha you wont lose it in the car park tho

Looks like a clean find, as for the mirrors it sounds like its the same as on my variant, persume its what they a suppose to be like.

Dunno, there is another one near me thats an R-reg (thats hes damaged the rear end of) and its mirrors are totally different.

Jsut wondering wheres the best place to get replacement window trims from (the rubber bit along the top edge of the door not the window rubber, the strip at the bottom on the window) as all the ones on my car have perished to a degree. Drivers and passengers front ones are really bad!

The wing mirrors on the early ones (before early year 2000) are completely different to the ones that come on the later spec cars. Suspension, interior, dash, mirrors and few other trim bits are all different. The mirrors on these cars are exactly the same as similar year seat ibiza etc. The visivilty in having the stubby mirror on the drivers side was obviously deemed not good enough so they whacked a great big donkey mirror on there. To have two matching stubby mirrors you would have to buy a passenger side mirror from the continent (LHD cars) and that would be the same as a drivers side stubby mirror in this country.

Find The same car in a scrap yard or try VW for those bits you need to replace?? See here for the part numbers you would need Parts. It will be under the bodywork section.

Yeah the green is a bit loud! Can`t have been a Superb that you drove though - they are classed as "sporty" by Skoda so they don`t have flappy paddles, just the DSG box. Ours is quick enough to keep up with supposedly faster stuff and I think some local boy racer got a bit peed off when his Clio couldnt pull away from it and he had to let the Superb go past!

Thanks for the link - looks like I can get a bigger/ different splitter from there too - lists one with part number ending in an A that looks like my current one and the picture shows a vented one below it with part number ending in a D.

Not sure what the strip bits I need are called, if they are the seals or the "window channel guides". Looks from the diagram in the link to be more likely to be the guides. Off to the scrappy tomorrow anyway.

First mods already done - bump strips are off and I`ve debadged the back end. Looks a lot tidier!

splitter off the tdi is bigger i think. or even better the cordoba splitter..... i'm trying to source one myself, much much bigger.

well just cleaned the car and I`ve noticed that there appears to be lots of little bits of glue and stuff on the doors still where the bump strips were.

Anyone know how to get these off?

Whats one of them? tried using a foam scrubber on them and a big blob of clay but doesnt seem to want to shift! looks a mess at the mo on the pass side.

Try some tar/bug remover and an old credit card. Done it this way on a few cars now. Initially removed them by using a few hot kettles full of water and gentle persuasion. Didn't leave much behind. I've not done this on my polo estate yet but i might give it a go sometime.

Right, few more mods being done today.

Gonna try and tidy the doors up as they look a bit of a mess but not as bad as before, managed to get a lot of the shit off. Also got to get a vacuum down under the wiper tray as took it off last night and its FULL of leaves and stuff, looks like its never ever been cleaned out throughout the cars entire life!

Also considering what to do with steelies at the moment. Might take the caps off and paint the centres copper coloured or gold as i think it would be a nice contrast to the lurid green.

Might get a Mk 3 Golf splitter at the front as well but "customise" it.

Right, latest changes, trying to find what I did with the Fabia`s old speakers as the Polo`s arent workin properly (think th pass side rnt one has blown and no sue if the rear parcel shelf oness are working at all!) and going to be ordering some 5x100 hub adaptors at the weekend then off to pick up the Giagaros from Skoda.

Considering doing the glossy black bits of the dash and the engine cover in body colour but might be a bit too lairy, what do people think?

well Furbys speakers don`t fit! about an inch smaller!

went for its MOT yesterday. Nearly died of shock when it sailed through with no issues at all. So weird - first car I have ever had any car do that!

So now all fully taxed and tested. Other n that going to do some dash colour coding later today or tomorrow. Have to get the paint from VW as nowhere else seems to even HAVE my cars colour in stock (Hellfrauds dont even list it!)
