yaris bump strips

Featured Replies

hola

my parents have got an 07 yaris which doesnt have any bump strips, and their car's been bashed into by a supermarket trolley pushing retard... something many of us have experience of.

anyway, they went to toyota who quoted them £450 to fit a set of bump strips, which quite frankly, for some black plastic is outrageous.

so i was wondering if anyone on here knows if there are kits available to make your own, or if anyone has ever done it themselves etc.

cheeers.

i'yll provide the cutlery, better than watching britains got talent

The bodyshop I work at have a contract repairing the cars for our local Toyota/Lexus dealer...no way should they be quoting that.

I bet the bump strips are no more than £150 tops and any local bodyshop could fit them...it's only a case of removing the double sided tape, lining up and sticking on.

love the way you coulda just sat there googleing to find a set and fitted them yourself as said it just a matter of straighten up abd stick lol

ok, you do your google magic and get me a link... i have used google and ebay, everything to no avail my good friend.

so rob, do you think toyota will sell the strips at a decent price?

also talked to paps and he said the quote was nearer £600.

slacker, i have my own cutlery for these occasions :-D

Just go in or call them and ask for the price on the strips...I'm guessing but I don't see them been more than £150.

Then off to Google (or ask Toyota for a picture) to show where they go...from memory they slope downwards slightly to the front of the car.

Piece of piss to do tbh, you don't have to be a pro and you definatly don't need to spend £450-£600 for some spotty oink fresh out of college to do it for you.

Id get to a scrapper, and just repace the tape or glue them on, surely that would be the cheapest option, and there isn`t no reason this couldnt be done diy.

If they are quoting you that much, get it smoothed :D

aye but it wouldnt stop it happening again.

tried toyota garage but their parts department is always closed when i get home from work.

will definitely do a DIY job as soon as i can get hold of the strips... it's just getting hold of them... i have a feeling toyota will try and rip me off, i have looked for non-specific kits everywhere online and can find nothing. the local scrappy doesnt have any new shape yaris's at the moment.

is it yaris's or yarii?

anyway, cheers guys for your suggestions.
