1.4 8v polo 6N-72k

Featured Replies

cant afford to run a petrol car with 80 mile trips to college so going to have no car for a bit, cancel my insurance and save for a 6n2 TDI.

brought the car last june as a 1st car, had done 68k when i got it and had just been serviced by previous owner and had the cambelt changed (no proof of this unfortunately as he did it himself) since then i have replaced a few things on it to help it run as well as it can.

Make:

VW

Model:

polo 6N 1.4 8V

Year/Reg:

1996 P

Mileage:

72222 (currently still using it so will go up)

MOT:

november 5th

Tax:

Good points:

low mileage for a 15 year old car

in the last 2000 miles its had:

new lambda sensor

new temperature sender

new thermostat

new bosch super 4 plugs

new leads

new dizzzy cap

new rotor arm

new starter motor

coolant flushed

Throttle body cleaned

New air and fuel filters at last MOT, oil was done by previous owner

some service history, will need to look waht i have

interior is in good condition

has a cd player included

Toad remote alarm system with 1 key

Bad points:

body work isnt great, no dents or major scratches but the lacqure is pealing a bit around the car. I'm going to look into sorting this before selling as a mate of mine is a body sprayer. there is also a small crack in the front bumper, passed MOT with this so nothing serious.

valance on the front is hanging off, will be put back on before selling.

a few little scabs of rust popping up, will try to get these looked at by my mate aswell as the lacqure peal.

hole in the exhaust at a join that i cant be arsed to fix, will try to get round to it.

windows have that common polo fault of moving slow, both work so never bothered me.

Gearbox needs the linkages sorting, it works but R/1/2 like to be a pain sometimes. I'm used to it so havnt sorted it yet. Cheap fix I'm told

stears slightly to the left since i had a new tyre put on, dont think it was balanced properly
