I wonder how much force is exerted on the outer inside edge of the caliper on full anchors?

another option would be to skim some meat off the pads. obviously you would need to change the pads more often though

To think that just 2mm can result in caliper flex is scary enough. What about when the calipers are frozen or red hot?

Or the discs are warped?

Do manufacturers waste metal casually? Are the calipers not already profiled for maximum wheel clearance already?

I dont know. I'm no expert on the matter. Which is why i wouldn't even use anything more aggressive than a wire brush on mine.
