Hi guys, heres my mk2 Polo project, literally saved from the crusher in the nick of time! I very nearly brought one of these instead of my mk3 and I've had a thing for them since! I left a note on the windscreen of this driveway sitter ages ago and never heard back so I forgot about it. A couple of weeks ago I got a phone call in the evening from the owner saying they were moving back to malysia and as I was an entusiast I could have the car for free if I collected before midday, when the scrapmen would come for it

here it is when I collected her, pretty grim and dirty, I towed it home and gave a quick preasure wash

I've fully serviced the engine and have got it running nice and sweet. I'm going to clean the carb and do some work on the exhaust and hopefully shell be running sweet as a nut!

I'm going to sort the brakes out next, then sort the rust spots and a rusty sill

theres a yellow sticker saying 'change 26.01.01 at 54150 miles' I cant work out if it means change or changed at the given date/millege?! does it look like it needs changing?

awesome find!!! some people have all the luck.

since it was free, i take it there are gonna be some extreme plans? :unibrow: :unibrow:

if you're worried bout the belt, check it for cracks and splits. tiny cracks on the outside edge should be okay.

check thoroughly for any broken or split teeth... if they have badly split, change it. for the sake of £20 you may as well anyway.

nice one though.
