2011 polo SE Typ 6r speaker upgrade help?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I like to upgrade my factory fitted car 6 speakers to aftermarket ones.

I dont know nothing about car speakers so i dont want to get the wrong ones that wont work with my car.

what speaker type does it take and what size and what watts? Do i need to change the factory fitted head unit cd player as well? are front and rear speakers the same?

how do you install the speakers?

I been to halfords and they were not much help. i didnt understand the jargon.

thanks

On the 6r to replace the speakers you need to remove to door card and drill the rivots holding the speakers in place. As for what speakers to upgrade to, you would be better off going to a car audio place than halfords

The door card is the entire "covering" that stops you seeing the actual metal of the door.

It's held on by pop clips and a few screws. Once this "card" is off, you can replace the speakers; it's not difficult at all.

A car audio specialist will be of much more help than Halfrauds.

Just to expand, there are 2 or 3 Torx 25 screws across the bottom of the card, and then there's a bit of trim on the handle that pulls off and there's a couple of Torx 30 screws behind that, then just pull it off the clips, they are normally quite tight but do come off with a bit of persuasion.

No offence, but if you dont know what a door card is, i really would not try changing speakers! Get a specialist to do it, before something bad happens

I don't have one, so i couldn't expand anymore than that. :p
