I then didnt like the front grill with the black VW badge so i brought a new one!

It sat on these wheels for a couple of weeks after buying it. To the fond out all 4 were as bent as a 9 bob note!

So it currently on some BBS Ra's (They were cheap and straight!)

I then fitted my Full Car PC..

I just need to get this to interface with VAG-COM now.

But I've found out that it may have a diesel gearbox!

3000Rpm = 80MPH

Thanks

Stewart

  • Well the time has arrived to update this thread! Quite alot has happened since writing on here last. I know some of you guys follow me on Instagram or on Facebook so you will see whats been going on

Looks nice dude. Mine hits 80mph at around 3500rpm so you may have a TDI box. It is essentially the same box but with different ratios.

  • Author

cheers! Yeah that's the problem because of the different ratios it seams really slow!

i have a GTi box if you need one mate?

  • Author

Properly going to leave it like it ATM its good on fuel with it!

Looks nice, dont like the number plates though.

  • Author

Number plates from the old owner yeah they looked proper gash!

I brought some new ones at GTI Spring Fest looking much like this now.

My aim before edition is to get the gearbox changed to the GTI one and get it slammed. - Seams a long time but really busy at work!

Wheels..... I'm on the lookout for some OZ turbos.. But they can wait. I must get rid of that Kumo Tyre!

21... Hopefully insurance will be cheaper!

Oh and my audio Build.

I'm feeling some hertz or rainbow front speakers and rear speakers.

And 2x 10/12 subs.

And of course some AudioSystem Amps.... - Sounds like win to me.

And a double din touch screen for the Car-PC which will be wired into the First aid compartment in the boot.

Thats the plan anyway!

Small update.

Not much has changed. The gearbox went the week before UD 2012. I managed to get a new re-con box and got it in before!

I since sent the old box back and it turned out the old box had 1.9D parts inside it. That explains the issues with the slow acceleration.

Anyway I've since brought some coilovers. (KW Varient 1)

Here are some pics from the weekend.

We then had an issue with the tyre scrubbing quite bad on the arch....

How it stands before being cleaned.

Then on sunday we decided to get the good old machine polisher out. We managed to get most of the dirty swirl marks out the bonnet also a few others.

Here was is the results and how it stands now.

Hope you like.

Mine scrubbed hard on the inner arch mainly where the arch and bumper meet, so I just chopped it off seemed to do the job, then used a nut and bolt to secure the bunper

  • Author

Yeah mine was scrubbing in the same place. Right on that bolt that holds the arch liner in. So we modified it

Bit cowboy bit it's done the job! Seams to still scrub quite bad on passenger side!

The KW's can go a lot lower but the offset of the ra's are ET33

Looks nice and tidy mate! Seems like a lot of time and effort has gone into this..

Yeah I have spent a lot of time getting it how it should be.

I brought it this time last year. And to be honest there was a lot of things wrong with it that iCouldn't see!

It's now on 97k and on the 3rd gearbox

New sump as the previous owner rounded the sump bolt off! (WTF?)

New coil pack as it had a dodgy ht lead so it melted the plug on the coil pack

Had a billy bolt on cherry bomb exhaust that sounded awful

Leaking washer bottle! Due to the stupid join between the 2 bottles.

The ronals were so bent! It was unbelievable! They must of been jumping up Kurbs or something!!!

But now all this is sorted the car is great fun!

I'm thinking about getting some Schmidt Modern lines for the time being. Untill I can find some decent OZ Turbo's!

Its made the car look so much better!

I've got to get the front arches rolled. This also means i can go lower!!

Fair play, nice wheels! pure envy.

Good effort!

Wheels looking sweet!

  • Author

Yeah I'm pleased with the outcome.

I've got to get the front arches rolled as I'm having scrubbing issues!!

Also I'm wondering if to get the car resprayed. As you can see the front bumper is a different colour to the rest of the car. Also so is the bonnet.

The lacquer is also starting to peel off the roof on the plastic bits where the roof rack goes!!

None of these are really overly noticable!!

get those b-pillars wrapped in black! makes a hell of a difference

OZ Turbos look SICK mate! sets the car off nicely man well done ;)

  • Author

I may put spacers on the rears. Or make them 9j

I'm hoping to get the paint sorted this month. Then park it in the field at Edition.

I also need to do something with the interior its hanging....

Wouldnt mind the GTI heated leather seats :(
