my car failed its MOT and this was one of the things it failed on, But I've no clue what it is,

its on/very near the rear axel. they normally have a spring going to them from the axel itself its a brake load sensing valve basicly the more weight u have in the car the more fluid/pressure is let to the rear brakes.

Give it a few good soaks in a release agent of your choice, then idiot it with a hammer. Give it a wiggle to free it up and wire brush off any rust you can.

Works on Transit ones anyway.
