Featured Replies

This is 15x8 et10 with 185/45s without arch work, sat so high...

Although they were 195/50s on there I think...

  • "Copy"? Its putting wheels on a car not sitting an exam. I'm sure hundreds of people might have them on this car... You put them on for personal preference mate.

Cheers man! Got nothing on yours though, I have always loved g60 steels especially banded sets so I love your wheels more than mine :p I'll try and get some photos soon before she goes into winter

If I do get 8's ill have to get the rubber mallet out and just fold them flat but cba with flaring them, also my car has awful stance cause I can't get the front any lower :( gonna have a go at takin the helpers out

If I were you I'd get staggered, I found 8's on the front were quite annoying, rubs when turning, and unless you camber them it's hard to go low on the front without it rubbing.

Taking the helpers out takes like 2 minutes dude :)

Personally, I think you should stick with the Ronals, I love the way the car looks on them, they look amazing.

Sorry for stealing your build thread a bit but what would you guys recommend on a staggered 7/8 set then. ET20 or ET15?

That would be a good excuse though as then I can't go any lower cause of 8's on the front, living in the country sucks for lowness. Can barley get in my drive as it is. I'll get 185's when my 165's are bald which won't be long and then see how much room I have and see how much lower I can go and mabe some spacers

That sounds like a good plan

Right update time,

Being a lover of music i really need some better sounds than just some uprated door speakers so decided to build a false floor and mount some speakers in the rear door cards, so got some new 16v door cards so finally i have door cards that dont clash with my recaros. I glued some mdf to the rear of them and cut holes out for the speakers and mounted them. Soo much better having 6 speakers :D

So then i had to turn these into a sealed sub box

Tada, still need to mount a thinner piece of mdf over the top to hide all the wires and regain the use of the boot but while I'm playing around with the amp i havn't bothered. I love it how when people ask about why you have a sub they picture some knob in a nova going through town on a saturday night with some happy hardcore on and don't understand that some music has lower ranges that normal speakers cant produce. Now i just need some new dash speakers and it will be sounding good :D

Also got some 185/45 nankang ns-2's which handle so much better than the 165's, it actually feels like I'm driving a go kart. Only problem i have is they are catching the rear slightly so i need to roll the arches asap. Love how they make the car look fatter and just more complete.

Not as much stretch as i would like but beats catching the rims on rocks and pot holes :/

Seems like it, wanting something 8j though :/ need more lows

I want cups haha

The only two people running Ronals on here are both wanting rid, says alot about them :lol

Looking really good man.

Just knock the arches out a little, maybe add a tad of camber and you'l get it lower with a notch

Was it difficult tinting your fogs?

I love my ronals, I just fancy a change :)

I just got a £1 pot of glass paint, painted it on and lacquered over them but it is chipping cause of stone chips so might get some lamin-x

Same, the quality is so good but I just want wider, but I know as soon as I get 8's I'll be annoyed how much they rub

Why not space out your Ronals then?

You can choose exactly how wide you have them then too :)

Went to get into my car this morning and as I turned the key the central locking didn't work. So had to get a new pump this afternoon from a mk3 golf at the scrappy :/ £10 later I have a working pump out of a mk3 golf, win :) but now I need to seal my 6n2 lights better :/

I had exactly the same.

Literally golf mk3 pump for £10 from scrapyard as 6n2 light leakage broke original haha.

I waterproofed my pump too

Cheers guys, everyone says they like my car but I just think its too high and not wide enough :p but it is practical, like I can get over any speed bumps and it isn't too uncomfy, might get a gti splitter and leave it
