garage put them in on friday, and they said to allow a while for them to settle.

but the front is higher than the back at the moment.

anyone know if the front take longer to settle, or is this just a dodgy product? or any other reasons for the front to be higher?

this is a pic before lowered (bear in mind the back wheels have a thinner tyre) haha, looks like the houses are wonky

and this is after lowered (i put the steel wheels back onto the back because the wellers were too wide)

The reason the front is so high is because its only a 40mm drop, your old shocks and springs could of gone saggy with age and may of been sitting lower than when they left the factory, which could explain Why you didn't see much of a change

Rears sit so lower because they are height adjustable and are just in the wrong setting so will want adjusting to suit the height of the front

cos there was a slightly more expensive set and on the page it had the different possible heights....

That's the same kit mate, these come in -40/60/80mm flavors and the only difference between the different kits is the length of the front springs. The rear springs on each of these kits are the same, they are adjusted by moving a clip into different groves on the body of the rear shock, the higher up the grove you use the higher the back will be and the lower the grove the lower the back will sit. If you look at the photos of the kit you should notice the groves on the body of the rear dampers

No,you can raise the rear either 10mm or 20mm. And lower them the same. They'll be on the middle one of five settings.

The front springs may settle slightly. Id just chop one coil off if it were me (well i did), it'll go down to 50mm then. Your shortened/uprated front shocks are more than capable of handling that but of course it'll void the warranty.

i don't really trust myself chopping the coil, i know it can be dodgy if you do it wrong..

if i just got like 60 or 80 springs, would the shocks be able to handle that?

Yes they will take 60 or 80mm springs, as I said they are sold with those springs in the 60 and 80 kits

80/60 is all thats needed for mk3's if your going budget

what do these kits handle like everyday driving? they a harsh ride or ok? and what about harder driving they handle ok?

they handle well, take the corners a bit better i think.

but the ride is quite bumpy =P

i would say at looks cooler... but at the moment it looks like i'm accelerating all the time =P
