Well to be fair the limo is bulletproof, the driver won't really be able to hear anything outside, particularly if it's just a car scraping slightly.

Well to be fair the limo is bulletproof, the driver won't really be able to hear anything outside, particularly if it's just a car scraping slightly.

Suppose thats a valid point, but the bulletprrof glass wouldnt have impared his vision!! Before it happened i knew what was coming and i wasnt driving the damn thing!

Well if you look at where the BMW scraped it was towards the front, you can't really see the front underside of the car onfront, particularly with a long bonnet like that limo.

The limo wasnt directly behind the BM though, he was coming perpendicular to where the bm was coming over the crest so would have been able to see it. Not only that i drive a slammed 6n2 and i know when I'm come to a crest or a speed bump just by looking at it whether I'm going to make it or not. Fair enough that limo aint slammed but its wheel base is huge!! So considering that the supposed driver of the beast is like some ex-navy seal or something whos been extensively trained to drive at high speeds, in all different kinds of scenarios and conditions. Its a pretty tragic mistake to make!

Yeah but the driver wasn't watching what was happening in a video found in a thread entitled "obama scraping the floor with his sill" no doubt if he was he would have a good idea what was going to happen before it happened too

Hes driving a fucking fortress on wheels, anything the IRA could have afforded to throw at that car would have bounced straight off!!

And thats where your completely wrong my friend, "that bump looks a little high and i dont think I'm going to get over it" was exactly what should have been going through his head, the secret service, including the driver of the beast who is a member of the secret service would have had the blue prints and schematics for that front courtyard, everything would have been scrutinised from a strategic operational point of view. And with him approaching that crest, knowing hes got a larger wheel base. The first though should have been I'm not going to get over that bump, to radio through to the lead car, come back and provide cover in order for there to have been a condingency plan set in motion.

By him grounding out there, not only did he imobolise the vehicle and leave it completely open to a frontal assault, but also left the vehicle and possible target open to a flanking assault which would have completely isolated the beast as on the other side of the limo there was a solid brick/concrete wall. Leaving extraction of the president near enough impossible if an assault was planned! Why do you think they moved the armoured bus in front of the car and moved another car to cover the open side of the limo?? It wasnt embarrassment for the situation i can assure you that. Remember the IRA arent some rag tag bunch of guys with guns and explosives. There a strictly organised paramilitary group, which consist of plenty of ex forces and highly trained soldiers who are trained to take the utmost advantage of situations such as that!

Strategically that while being amusing for the crowd was a complete demonstration of the incompetency of the secret service and they're delayed reactions in being able to deal with the situation at hand. The driver and afew other people would have had a sturn talking to and certainly a slap on the wrist!

It reminds me of the time when G.W.Bush and the first family went on holiday to france or italy (cant remember which) and while sitting down to have food, a pick pocket got close enough to steal the 1st daughters purse and identity card without the secret service noticing!!
