how to remove HID kit

Featured Replies

As above, want to know how to remove my HID kit in my 6n2

I have located the box and cut the cable ties holding it in place

There are wires coming from the box into the back of the drivers side headlight but don't know what to take out

Is there standard leads to replace the leads coming from the HID box for the standard headlights?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks Dan

If possible check to see if the original connector which fits onto the back of the standard bulb is still there. If it is you simply unplug everything from that connector onwards and put it back onto a conventional bulb.

If the wiring has been spliced, probably best to post again with details and a photo?

You need to look and see what the blue and black wires are connected to inside the light fitting. The other wire from the ballast with the round connector will connect to the HID bulb, this can simply be removed, but make sure the lights have been off for a while, HID ballasts generate tens of thousands of volts - they bite!!

where are you based? if it's not too far, i can come over and sort it for you...

thanks for the help lads but got a mate to sort it for me, the wires just needed pulled out of the plastic surround, the previous owner had just cut a hole in the plastic to let the wires go through, thanks anyway :)
