Wiring Diagram anyone?

Featured Replies

Basically guys, my car decided to go up in flames...

Turns out the problem was from the window switch having a loose connection causing an electrical fire.

Well, the firemen put it out and cut the switch out; 3 months on and i'm fixing the car up. However, I don't know where each wire connects to in the driver's side door swiitch for the mirror, central locking etc.

Basically I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a wiring diagram so I know where to put the particular wires in the right holes in the switch?

Thanks

I have 3 brown, 1 red and yellow, 1 blue and black, 1 blue and red, 1 red and brown, 4 blue and grey, 2 red and 1 white wire

Sorry for the n00bness :-(

Hi, I don't have all those coloured wires sticking out! I assume I have to cut open the wires more to discover more colours. However, I still just don't understand where each wire goes; like those grey rectangles in the middle; what are they? The coupling station; what's that? Am I going to need a whole new door loom or is this just a job for an electrician? What do I need to do to make those wires fit into the window switch that I bought for the driver's side?

I have this switch; it's what happened to my car after the fire.

Unless your confident to do a wiring check back to the door disconnect to identify each of the wires, I would either call in an auto-sparky or get a replacement loom, might workout cheaper in the long run, try Stevens dismantlers www.vws.me.uk I got a replacement loom for my 6n (to upgrade to elect windows and c/locking) from them for a fiver +p&p
