Featured Replies

Make: VW

Model: Jetta

Year/Reg: 1983

Mileage: 65000

MOT: 12 Months

Tax: 6 Months

Here we have a rare and very sought after Mk1 Jetta 2 door coupe in its original, bright Mars red paintwork. It's the CL model so comes with GTI style arches plus side stripes and has the nippy 1457cc engine with 5 speed box. Externally the car is in very good order with no rust or rot. The wings and arches are rock solid and all the usual areas where Mk1's suffer are tip-top. There are however some stone chips along the front valance and a few 'trolley dings' here and there but it is a 28 year old car so you can expect the odd battle scar. I can supply close up pics of any area you wish to see in detail. You will see that it still has the Export plates on it. I hope to have it fully UK registered in the next week. Upon arrival in the UK I had it MOT'd and it passed with no advisories at all. It has 6 months tax on it too. I have fitted a pair of NOS RHD headlights and a new gear linkage, plus the all important rear foglight for UK compliance. It is pictured with a rare set of ATS Cups but these will not be included in the sale. The car will come equipped with a set of original Jetta/Golf steel rims. However it does come with a pair of opening quarter light windows which are the VERY rare clear glass bolt through type. It also has a new set of coilovers fitted to it. I am the third owner, with the car spending the majority of its time in Germany in the possession of an older couple, until a younger chap bought it. He fitted the coilovers and qtr lights. It currently has 105k km on it, which equates to just over 65k miles. It drives very well indeed. The interior is in great condition with no real wear apart from the inner door cappings which has a few cracks in it. Once again if you need any pictures of the interior, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I have a Mk1 jetta addiction, especially the two doors. They were never available in the UK so I had to get this one from Germany. I have a mate over there who helped me locate this little one. They're getting harder to find in this condition nowadays as the Germans introduced the scrappage scheme long before we did. :-(
