loving life right now, as I've recently brought my polo gti 2000!

new clutch, new stem, new cambelts, coil and ht leads, temp sensors, full break system all to find out, my piston rings have gone.

the woman that sold me the car was just a ***** tbh!

I'm not sure whether to pay the £800 I've been priced to get the piston rings replaced. So if anyone has an engine for sale. Price would be a very good help and I'm interested in anyhelp with either a price on a pistonring change, or an engine!

It will be cheaper to put another lump into it mate should be a pretty easy job two days at most you can often pick up gti engines on here just need the engine code & thats it really hopes this helps

Yeah your probably right, I've seen an engine with 65k

£500. He said he will put cambelts, oil change and filter for £850 aswell as fitting it to my car

Problem is. No service history but 2 month warranty!

Also been offered an 80k engine with service history for £300. No warranty, no fitting and then £400 from an independent garage for fitting and oil change ect. totalling £750?

If you have changed a engine before Or feel you could give it ago I would buy the lump & do it yourself on your driveway change the cambelt , water pump , tensioner & clutch when the engine Is out then it's just a days work dropping it into your car & reconnecting everything back up
