So i have got a service technician apprenticeship interview at audi next week and i am just wondering what type of questions i should be asking the service manager.

More importantly what do you think you should be asking? What do you want to know? will you be doing your apprenticeship through the academy at mk?

You need to be asking how it wil benefit you, how long you will be training etc. (I'm a qualified audi service tech btw :))

Yeah i ahve about 5 questions writ down at the moment asking about what are the oppotunities and benefits of the apprenticeship and what types of coures i will be doing while i am at mk, tbh mate I'm really excited i really want the apprenticeship :-D

A good question would be, "at the end of my apprenticeship, as a qualified technician/mechanic, what would be my possible developments within the dealership/group as to promotions/higher resposibilities after a suitable time to gain further experiance" it would show you are commited to stay with the dealership/group and wanting to continue to learn to be a greater part of the dealership/group and not flit off as soon as you finish your basic training!!

it's always good to ask if they provide further education opportunities, such as degrees.

main thing is to just be yourself, talk with enthusiasm about anything car related etc.

make them think you want to carry on working there after your apprenticeship, that would help a bit, and just ask about what sortof stuff youll be doing as an apprentice, just seem really keen and try having a laugh with them. helped me when i got my railway apprenticeship

Its a bit late, but try stagecoach. They seemed to have no qualms giving me an interview at 19, whether ill get the position is a different matter entirely though.

just got to try my best now mate and perform well in the interview, but go on facebook and on the volkswagen group apprenticeship page there is a 25 year old who has got an interview so your still in with a chance mate

Yeah i do lol, just go around to all the vw group garages and demand to speak to the service managers dont take no stupid answers or try and make friends with some of the technicians :)

ashley dont get downhearted if you dont get it, took me 3-4 years to get my apprenticeship, what area are you in, if the company i work for have a company in your area ill put a word in for you.

I'm in the west midlands,but i know a tech at the garage and he has put a good word in for me its just up to me now

Good lad, I Struggled to find an apprenticeship whilst at college, but i have now landed a job with halfords auto centre as a service tech :) its all good, i had interview friday, and basically i asked where i can go from this blah blah and he was saying i can go do diagnostic courses/MOT Testing etc, I start monday, cant wait good luck mate, and try your best

Didnt get the audi apprenticeship boys :( But on the up side they have got me an interview at volkswagen

At what VW garage?

nice to hear there's enthusiastic young blood entering the trade; and don't forget there's always college training in mechanics and other garage skills (panel beating and spraying etc)...and there's always room for another independent, especially if you look to specialise...although a lot of the guys who to specialised tend to have history in the dealerships

good luck! let us all know how you both get on; having skills available across the country on the forum for those who don't want to get their hands dirty could only be a good thing i'd say!

gutted mate, hopefully you will learn from audi interview and improve for VW.
