Featured Replies

my 93 coupe just went in for an MOT and when i looked at the emmisions results they had done a non catalyst test, has anyone else had this? I'm not complaining just thought they would have picked up on that

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think the crossover for needing a cat test is November 1993.

Its july/august 1992 when they introduced the CAT test, my polo is a 1992 2nd of june registered one and just makes it on the 3.5% CO and 1200 HC level.

Count your self lucky my friend.

First registered or built after 1st August 1992 cop for the catalyst test.

However, the guys will tend to do the catalyst test followed by the Basic Emissions Test if it fails the catalyst test. At least that's what my MOT man's computer makes him do. The BET has vehicle specific limits, but it might be that your number plate comes up against a non-catalyst test?
