My 8v 6n

Featured Replies

Right, here goes my first thread.

Got my first 6n 5 door back in January 2010, was dragon green and i loved it (Since green is my favourite colour) Then right before i started working, some asshole decided to drive straight into it and right it off... :(

But within three days my parents had already bought me a 1999 6n, 3 door which i much preffered. THe only down sides to this car was that the previous own seemed to love to scrape objects.... So the car has paint missing on most of the corners.

Since i've had the car, i havn't hit anything... other than the bottom of my car on speed bumps ;)

My rents are the type that think that there are better things to spend my money on... so they're very reluctant to allow me to mod it... but i'm generally going ahead with it anyways :D

Mods to come:

Get some lows (Thanks to PhilJ for the coilies)

Bump strips removed

Rear windows tinted

Stubby arial

Rear wiper removed

Front windows tinted

New wheels

New exhaust (Hopefully)

Arches rolled

Flatblade wipers

Clear side repeaters

Anyway, here's some pictures

At the moment, it's as low as it can go on the wheels/tyres but i'm getting some new wheels and low profiles next month so will sit lower

Any comments welcome, good or bad

Cheers, Hennerss

Looks like a good base to start on.

What wheels do you have in mind?

  • Author

They're going to be some Calibre - Vice.

4 spoke, kind of "JDM" i guess.

It still needs some work i know

Oh they are sort of like mine, I have the Rota's :p

  • Author

Haha :D Yours look sick though,

But these are the cheap version i think ;) low money ftw

Yeah ha, mine are still the cheap versions of the Work Equip 01's though!

  • Author

Haha, they do look pretty sick on yours with the red contrast :)

i really like the orange theme you've got going, suits the car well, definately looks better than debadging it and getting clear indicators.

cant wait to see this SLAMMED! :D

looking forward to seeing how the wheels look on the car too, it could be quite hard to pull off but if your low enough you should have no problems

gloss blacking the splitter is a must though!!!

I dewipered my car... student style :p Will post some pics later, also sprayed the font of my badge black, so it has an orange back to it.

I put the badge on as soon as it was dry, went out, and them obviously hit a stone so there's a massive chip in the black :(

I'm up for doing the splitter, but it's just going to be a bitch to paint at the moment... with the amazing weather haha

looking good man, loving the orange, always see you in leighton mcdonalds, i got a white 6n

  • Author

Haha, i'm always there lol.

Was that you the other day that drove behind me in the drive-through and put your subs on? Haha :D

yer that would be me haha. didnt no if you could hear them but i thought id try ha

  • Author

Haha yeah wasn't too bad, what have you got in your car sound wise?

I've got two 12" in my boot, 6" x 9"s in my shelf and uprated door speakers, going to try and do a boot build when the funds come in.

And i'm out tonight, if you're there come say hello :D

liking the car mate, just curious.. in that picture how much is it lowered by?

  • Author

To be honest mate, i'm not even sure any more haha.

I THINK it's 80 at the front, 70 at the back (Because of my stupid skinny tyres i've kept the mud flaps on)

But i've still got another 90 on the front and 100 on the back of thread, including helpers out.

erm i got 1 12" sub 6x9's and uprated door speakers, I'm so jealous of how low your car is man its proper slammed. i might be about i dunno yet.

Sorry for the crap iPhone pics lol

Dude head to halfords you can get a grommet for about £1 and it will fit in the rear wiper surround thing, then just stick that back on.

  • Author

Haha I've already got one, just putting some gloss black on it, should be on today :D

  • 4 months later...

Where are the updates at? Looking alot better now...

  • 1 month later...
  • Author

Yeah i will get some updated up tonight (Hopefully).

Mods that have been done so far are:

6n2 fully red rears. so that's red indicators and red reversing light too.

16 front and back bumpers with a the two top vents and plate recess smothed on the front.

Got some 15" porsche cookie cutters painted black with a white lip with some mad stretch and nice natural camber.

Flatblades

6n2 gloss black roof rails.

also got a K&N air filter, beefs up the engine nicely but only when i put my foot down (Exactly how i wanted it)

Going to be stripping out the back soon, getting a false floor for it and eventually stick 4 subs in the floor.

New exhaust is coming in january after i've somehow managed to afford the christmas presents lol

Strut braces too

Winter wheels coming next week which are matt black 8v polo alloys 13" with 165/55/r13 tyres.

Probably forgotten quite a lot but will update when i remember
