Just thinking of building one of these for myself. Just finding a suitable frame to powdercoat and then it's just a case of buying stuff :-) Lots of my friends ride and so i want to see what the fuss is all about.

A guy i know makes the 'restrap' pedal straps at home. Check the vid. Video was filmed by Max who used to frequent these forums. Loving the local ghettodrome.

'Restrap'

What are the specs on your bike there? It looks like a nice piece of kit. Got to love the simplicity of them.

if you're building your own be sure to put these on it:

Higgo: Looks like something you would see in a White Stripes video.

I wonder if they can be adapted to work on a car...

Dragons den material?

all you'd have to do it attach a few led's to each wheel.

that may have to be tested.

Well similar things have been done with brakes and old computer harddrives to display text and clocks etc.

got given a beat up bike, stripped and cleaned, cost me £4. use it everyday to get to the school of art.

^^ only front brakes :o are you maddd

This is mine, got it for 100 quid from a friend, got some cleets to put on it, getting shoes for my birthday next week hopefully. Not traditional fixie I know but go out for nice long rides with my mate who rides a Charger single speed (I confess, both of us are yet to ride in fixed wheel!)

I'm rolling with no brakes mate

beauty of a fixie - your legs are the brakes.

I'd still have a front brake though, especially after having a 'demented hamster' steep hill related incident on my old gash fixie (rear freewheel welded up).
