Polo GT Bike Carbs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just gauging interest on my 86c MK3 Polo GT (original)

K Reg ('92) Manufactured '91 (no Cat required)

White

MOT'd last month, 11 months left.

Taxed

136,500 miles (will change as it's a daily)

Had plenty of work done to make sure the car is always running right at any cost.

Wheel bearings replaced

Alternator belt

Serviced recently

The car is immaculate and stands out in a crowd, the noise it makes is un-real and you'd be hard pressed to find another 1.3 (non charged) that sounds and goes like this does.

The insurance on one of these isn't too bad either!

Exterior

Smoothed arch spat holes

Rolled arches

Resprayed 7 months ago

13x7.5 fronts 13x8 rear banded steels in purple

Dunlop SP2000 175/55/R13 with good tread

Fog lights

Bullet wing mirrors

G40 rear lights

G40 splitter

Illest matt black car badges

Tasteful stickers

Interior

Leather Recaro buckets (rear leathers to match not currently in the car)

Momo 280mm wheel (extra cost, G40 if not)

Door cards trimmed in funky material

Alpine head unit

Alpine 6 x 9's

Alpine 4" dash speakers

Black carpet

Black headliner

Removable dildo gear stick (lol)

currently re-making the plywood board for the rear

Performance

ZZR600 bike carbs re-jetted

4-2-1 manifold (no cat)

Straight through with genuine cherry bomb

G40 front brakes with drilled and grooved discs

60mm lowered all round

Front top and bottom strut braces

Semi smoothed engine bay

There's more but can't remember it all at the moment.

I'm not looking for a part ex as I've recently turned 21 and can get insured on a car I've wanted for a while so cash only I'm afraid.

I'd be looking for about £2k an extra £200 for the wheel as it would go into my next car.

If you want pics then PM me and I'll get some to you as I can't get imageshack working on here for some reason :? If anyone can point me in the right direction as to upload images I'll try and get some up for you.

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry about the picture situation, I was cleaning it yesterday and it decided to pee it down as I was finishing off!

The car is now definitely for sale and I promise more pics when the weather decides to get its act together.

Also I will be getting some videos of it this weekend so I will post the link up when they're done.

My old GT! good luck with the sale dave.

Looks alot different from when i had it. But had a strong engine then.

Nothing to add really you've pretty much hit the spec on the head.

how much you wanting pal

Sorry mate not looking for a swap, I've seen the car I want. Cheers anyway though.

I'm looking for around £2k ish. It's had a load of work done to it and as Neil's stated a really strong runner, it's not far off show standard and could be there with little expense.

Cheers Neil! I love this car but as I'm getting older I can insure stuff I couldn't before so she's going to go. Split second decision to get rid and hoprfully won't regret it.

Dont suppose you know what jets are in your ZZR600's? just a passing query.

Good luck with the sale.

They're the 180's, tried a few sizes and these ran the best.

Cheers

The seats are from a fiesta RS turbo retrimmed in leather then bolted to a set of fabricated bases to fit the mk3 runners.

Gearbox had a recon about 10k before i sold it. So it'll have done 40kish now. Its got a longer 5th gear if youve noticed. From a 1L box.

Just for the sake of it..when i had it

Good luck dave :) - I had alot of good times in that car. But as you say bigger and better things!

same as mine then. Useful info for the bike carb thread.

Glad I'm not the only one running jets that size, must be something to do with the zzr600 carbs that we need big jets.

Cheers Neil! Yeah this car just keeps on going and going, I've had it off the clocks and it keeps on climbing. Brilliant top end from a small engine and the acceleration is fantastic.

Yeah I was quite suprised with the size needed, I've been told they're the biggest ones available!

Yet again the Great British weather let me down on the pictures and vids, I'll try again tomorrow. It will also be sold with an Alpine e-type sub.

Had all of that re-done since as well Lee :-D

Unfortunately I broke the centre console last night :-( I'll try and get a replacement before it sells.

Bump - someone buy this so I can buy a skid machine!

I'll get pictures of the pressed show plates it comes with when I get home too.

  • Author

Buy this car! Make me an offer, this comes with the original de-wedged throttle body and induction kit also for the right price.

Gotta be someone who wants this? Seriously clean car and I've spent at least £3k on it since I've owned it! Little work needed to make it absoloutly immaculate.

  • Author

Offer me something! Sensible obviously but this is a great car and you'd be getting a very decent buy!
