They look good there but as you say it's impossible to see exactly how they would fit.

Are you not interested in any 14's or 15's?

yeah i would be, but no one wants to swap their 14/15s for mine :( haha

and this is such a good deal cause they come with expensive tyres and adaptors..

so at least if i dont like them i could sell them for a lot..

Go for it then!

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get them to fit nicely with some arch work and the right tyres.

Yeah that's what i was thinking, and i saw that you've done your arches.. and meant to ask how you done yours?

cheers.

Mainly with a hammer and baseball bat, and a bit with a bottle jack, but I wouldn't use that again

It's all on my thread, have a look through :p

So, small update...

Bought these wheels...

DSC03163.jpg

15x8 et10 banded g60s, fitted with 195/50's.

Got them and trial fitted them, couldn't go anywhere near as low as i'd like without it rubbing.

They sat really nice width wise..

So I decided to sell the tyres on them, and ordered a set of 185/45s, hopefully will be able to go low enough with the new tyres, but i think i'll hammer my arches to get lower.

I decided that white didn't really suit the car properly, so i decided that whilst the tyres were off the wheels i'd spray them. In the end i went with Volvo Dark Grey.

Just need to give them a coat of lacquer tomorrow.

And thats where I'm at, will update when the tyres are on and the wheels are on the car :)

And if anyone could give me tips on how to get my arches out a bit it would be great :)

Thoughts?

I'd have gone 175's :p

looks a much nicer colour! an with it sat perfect, i'd say your onto a winner matey :)

Yeah i was thinking about 175/50's but they only do kumho's unless you wanna spend £60 a corner which i cant afford haha

Cheers mate :)

185/45s are a lot smaller profile than the 175/50s... I have them on my 8js and they're kumhos, and they're huge. Wish id gone 185/45

Ahhh cheers for that mate, makes me feel better haha

And don't sell your car! looks awesome!

Yeah as royal said 185/45s look a lot better than 175/50's and I'm sure they'l give you more clearance.

Looks like a monster truck to how it was before

Mine was the same when I got my wheels though which are the same size as yours!

Just give the arches a good battering and you'l be able to get it down :)

Yeah i hope so, cant wait for them to arrive, just want to get it all sorted so i can drive again! haha

Yeah that's what I'm going to do, just trying to find the best way to get the arches out with spending a load on an arch roller

Can't wait to see how this will look on the g60's

Tyres arrived :) just need to get them put on, but need to get some money first.. :(

Got the tyres put on yesterday, the tyre place scratched the rims pretty bad, but i'm not too bothered as i only didn't pay much to get them put on, so i'll just re-spray the rims.

Got them fitted and they sit so much nicer than they did with the old tyres :) Gunna get my arches out a bit soon to get lower, but happy for now :)

Strange thing is that my clocks no longer work, apart from the indicator arrow and the full beam light.. so if anyone has an idea what's happened or how to fix it, it would be helpful.

Thoughts? :)

Yeah i checked all my fuses and they're all okay :s

But thanks mate :)

Hammered my arches out today, sits so much better, will get pictures up tomorrow when its not dark :)

Looks a lot better in the last 2 pictures than It did when you first put the wheels on.

I'm interested to see it now after you've fiddled with the arches :)

Right then, as the wheels were so scratched, and black seemed to hide the dish, plus I was bored.. so i resprayed the wheels silver, they look pretty much the same colour as standard g60s. Probably the worst spray job of all time, but its not too noticeable from far away :)

Anyway, picture whoring time :)

And yeah they do a bit, but even with the arch sat almost on the tyre, it doesnt rub on the arch, although it does rub on the corner of the rear bumper, so i need to try and sort that out a bit.

Not actually driving the car at the moment as my rear drivers side drum is fucked, snapped one of my wheel bolts inside it, and another of the threads has gone, so I'm just waiting to buy a new one.

I also went all the way to the bottom of the coilovers on the front, and it didnt go any lower as it was sat on the bumpstops, so i cut them down to about a third of the size, and put them back in. Got it sitting so nice, until i realised when driving home my chassis was rubbing on my driveshaft, and left a pretty bad mark :/ So i raised it up on the side of the road and I'm waiting til i get my rear drum sorted, then maybe a chassis notch :)

Pretty happy with how it's sitting, but thats currently sat on the driveshaft :/ So i think I'm gunna get my chassis notched soon.

Looks good :)

  • Author
like that! get them arches flush with the steel on the rim itself and get that down more when you get that notch and leave it at that i say mate

Cheers mate :) Yeah i need to hammer the arches out a little bit more, they're fine on the front, but need to get the rears out more, and yeah I get paid friday so i'll get the chassis notch very soon :)

Looks good :)

Thanks mate :)

Cant decide whether i want 16v bumpers or not :/

Thoughts?
