I'm thinking the same thing, next month i'm gunna get the 8v plate recess smoothed, then go about getting the gti splitter on the 8v bumper, and it will go back on :)

It can go lower, but I'm not going to, not worth ruining my sub frame for going an inch lower.

And I've sorted some 195/45s lined up for the front, so once I get them on, it will get rid of the arch gap, and i can go a tiny bit lower without the bottom going lower... :)

Had a spare grill and badge, so I thought i'd spray it black to see what it looks like..

Also thought i'd colour code the door handles, only did one as I ran out of time. Also could only get mars red as they didn't have any flash red. It's not exactly the best colour match but it doesn't look too far out from a distance. Any ideas on how to get it a bit darker?

I went and got a 16v rear but sticking to 8v front, for now ;) Badge looks good by the way :)

Nah i'm good thanks, would rather have it an inch higher than ruin my subframe all the time.

Cheers though

Ok fair enough, check my thread its mostly words but be assured I'm not gassing if it's not now it will be..in south east london anyway cause london is a big place. and i know there are cars hidden everywhere, could be wrong... just an in joke with my friends really... and again your car looks great mate!!!

So I just drove down the road, and it turns out my brakes decided not to work... When i pump them they stiffen up, but when the cars moving the pedal goes straight to the floor, and just about stops when my foots right at the bottom. There's fluid in the resevior and the brakes were bled and had new fluid pumped through about 2 months ago.

It's weird because i drove my car off and back on the drive about an hour ago and the brakes worked fine, but now they dont?

The rear brakes have been squeaking for a while but they have still worked fine up until now.

Any ideas from anyone?

Have you checked your disc/pad wear? That might be your problem? If your pads are really low the further you have to push the pedal, the more the piston is pushed up against the pad. Often meaning pad wear is low? Also the squeal from the rear brakes might be your handbrake shoes are F*cked. Just double check them.

Good tip: Only check 1 side of the car regarding brakes, to save time because pad wear is normally equal. (advised you should check the other side too but up to you)

Hope this helps

Nah it's not the pads they were replaced not long ago and have lots of life. I'll check the handbreak cable though.

I'm going to bleed the breaks again when the snow goes.

thanks for the help though :)

Not to worry. Yeah bleed them for quite a bit see if there any air in the system (1L). For the handbrake cable, no more than 5 clicks is perfect :D But it might be worth checking your drums inside.

(If they are hard to get off after undoing the two bolts, then your handbrakes binding/ on its way out)

Yeah I'm going to bleed them tomorrow morning and see if it helps. Yeah I remember that last time I took my drums off they were a right fucker and took some serious effort.

Thanks man.

No worries, Hope you sort it out and hope I helped
