has anybody ever had dealings with a insurance company that covers you if you ever have a breakdown due to a mechanical component in your car,l and they will pay for the repair/ replacement parts fitted.

my brother has joined https://www.carprotect.co.uk/ as his got a renault f1 megane r25 and thought having a gearbox cover etc would be well worth it at 22.99 a month

Would the same apply to my volkwagen gti as we know the gearboxes are a common problem, and therefore is it worth joining a company like that to cover you for parts and labour if you ever break you clucth gearbox etc?

You get it with your bank not sure which one but yeah AA would be cheaper and doesn't limit you to one item

the offered it on my mk2 :p and on my mates 1982 austin mini the bloke who called from the AA to ask me was a fan of old dubs and we spent half hour talking about sciroccos

I've checked aa, they state it must be seviced from aa approved or main dealership from 1st reg date...

nope with this one i out my reg in , and it stated the payments, doesnt matter

Looks a bit iffy to me, would they actually pay out without question? or have you get to fight them.
