I do awkward welding without a mask quite often too, you're not likely to go blind unless your constantly looking at the light. Although unless you completely look away from what you are welding you risk getting arc eye, which is a nasty albeit temporary thing.

As long as you aren't looking in the direction of the light whether your eyes are shut or not, you'll be OK. But still, the UV won't do ANY good for your skin  So it is best to cover up if possible.

Nice work anyway, doing a good job of tracking down all the bastard rust :)

You can actually get a tan from welding 8-) , Even through closed eyes the arc can be seen though.

Looks fairly untidy, perhaps I expect perfection as my brother is a welder?!

Ah well, as long as the welds don't break then you'll be 'reet!

nothing wrong with them mate an inch of weld can hold a tonne :) ask your brother bwaaah

i think getting those side trims off are the best thing youve done to it yet. Looks sooo much better after that. I say this as i whipped mine off my red Coupe S about 2 months ago. very good progress there though, I like it. Oh and your tempting me to ditch my twin lamps for single. :p

See, they look awsome with them being one colour.

And did you have the nuts on the end of the arb tightened up when you were putting the blocks on?
