Just browsing ebay and seen these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Does anyone think these are worth a bid

Well only you can answer that. Do you like them? Would you put them on your car?

Personally I wouldn't post up something you might bid on as you are just advertising it to more people who may now bid against you!

theyd look pretty nice on my mk2!

To be honest I put them up for people to see. I am not bidding on them as I want some solitudes.

i thought they were worth a bid, so i did! might even put them on my polo one day

i was gonna bid myself then realised i have no monies till friday! boooo

Well I hope whoever got them post some pics, if they are a member on here. I was going to bid but the wife went nuts and said they were not needed as I have two sets of alloys already sitting about.

might post some pics when I've refurbed them. they are actually in pretty tidy condition. Was a bit sad for the guy selling the wheels. (he was selling all of his cars and goodies due to arthritis)

that'll explain the arthritis in the fingers!

Gutted. That's all i can say.

These would look nicely OEM on my S, totally fitting with the style of the car, helped by the 80s Ford XR2/RS style. But my 13s have new tyres so i figured id pass on wheels for now.

If id known i could've had them for under 40 quid id be laughing all the way to the loft - i nearly put down a bully and woulda won em

Nice one Jon, I thought they looked in quite good nick. The firs time they sold was for only 28quid. I still think they were a bargain

and look good. They will suit a mk3 better than a 6n I reckon

just got to decide what finish I'm going for. I'm temped to paint them white just for a change. think they should pull the colour off. if not i will just redo them silver

If you get the shade of silver right they'll look great, but the usual 'wheel silver' you get in cans is too bright imo. Factory wheels are not so 'aluminium' but more a normal silver, which should keep the quality if used with plenty of clearcoat.

White? Good idea - metallic white,as was common on wheeltrims in the '80s (Escort XR3i had this as standard, though most wore the optional silver alloys) would be better than solid white,as the metallic version gives the depth required to bring out the chunky shape of the spokes.

Just my suggestions,as i failed in the opportunity to do it myself..

was thinking a pearl white. either way they will be getting sprayed with a compressor and not cheapo wheel silver rattle cans

Yeah,they'll look bare tidy,fair play.

Saw a stock 205 1.9 GTi a few years back with its standard 15in alloys get that subtle pearl white, standard metallic green example it was (complete with the red bumper stripe),looked so much sweeter than with the stock silver wheels.

This thread is giving me ideas!
