audi a3

Featured Replies

Hi, the time has come for me to sell my most recent toy

1998 audi a3 20v sport (now 1.8t)

98k

Silver

Electric windows

Electric mirrors

Power steering

Electric sunroof

Remote central locking

Outside:

18” lensos (bbs rk2 rep so I'm told) with ‘hot pink’ outer lips

4 brand new 215 35 18 tyres

Coilovers (less than a year old) unseized and easily adjustable

Debadged rear end

Rear wiper removed

Crystal clear side reps

Custom rear lights…I bought these as red and clear but they had a clear square in the red bit for the reverse lights so I had that tinted to match the rest of the red and in the clear part are the brake lights which had a red filter (made the lights look like lexus ones) so I removed the filters and fitted led bulbs, these are clear when not on but shine red when you hit the breaks

Now for the front end story….a friend of mine works at the local bodyshop so as a challenge we wanted to see what we could do with the front bumper, we removed the raised number plate plinth and flushed that in then the lower splitter was smoothed into main bumper and recesses mate good and shaped etc,

When it was painted the shade was wrong as was the rear quarter so it went back to be sorted, while it was there I decided to have the bumper made from fiberglass so the bumper we made has been used to take a mould, if you want this bumper it can be arranged but at the moment its wearing a standard bumper from a silver a3 my mate was breaking

Inside;

Completely standard, even down to the factory fitted audi stereo and 6 cd changer

Blue and black check sport interior with under seat storage pockets in the front

No bolster wear, from memory there is one tiny burn on one of the seats

Central armrest

Fitted mats with all clips etc in tact

Un cut parcel shelf

Engine;

Originally started life as a 1.8 20v non turbo, I obtained an engine from a friend as a return for a favour, its an agu 1.8 20vt, this engine had covered 112k when I had it and so before it went in it benefitted from a full service new clutch and all fresh fluids, I then added a forge 007p recirc valve and a carbonio cold air intake system, the sound these 2 make together is amazing.

Recently I have had a pipe fitted which does away with the cat and the centre pipe but obtained the standard back box for a smooth look

All in all the motor is strong and pulls very well all gears are fine there are no whines, crunches or rattles, previous owner of the engine informs me it has a remapped ecu however I have no prof of this and nothing to compare it to

While the engine was out I bought from audi a tt front anti rollbar and new bushes and coupled this with a pair of adjustable drop links so the arb now goes under the drive shaft instead of over, which causes the rubbing of the drive shafts on the standard arb when lowering any car on the mk4 floor platform, so you can play with the coilies all day without having to worry about anything hitting

The car will have a fresh 12 months mot on it for the buyer and theres 4 months tax

Bad points

Bonnet has a few stone chips only very small

there is a slight knock coming from passenger side engine mount, I do have a spare and if I find the time I will change it myself

If the pink is not to your taste then I can have the lips back to silver

I have all the standard parts to replace modified ones if needed

Car is not used daily, maybe twice a week if I'm lucky the rest of the time its just chillin

I know theres no need but it gets hd waxed once every 2 weeks

Now to the important part

2500 as is

2750 with new front end

HOWEVER….. I am currently searching high and low for a nice mk2 golf, ideally I'm after an abf or vr6, but i will look at clean examples of 8v or 16v, must be 3dr 90spec

I am based in cornwall but have no problems with travelling

Please no comments if you do not like the car or about the price, I'm just a bloke selling a car and don’t want to have read through any sarcasm etc thanks 

Well I think that’s it but I've probably forgotten something

So any questions please feel free to call/text I may not answer your call due to working in a noisey environment but please leave a message and I will return the call
