All, After quite a few people butchering me i thought id start to write up a thread on my 6n 1.8T build. I was going to leave it till i had finished it but why not start it now :)

So Basically i had a 1998 Polo 16v, the spec:

1.4 16v AFH

Head Ported and Polished - Gas flowed

Standard Cams Top end rebuild in DEC 09

Raceland Stainless 4-2-1, Wayne Jackson Full 2 1/4" Stainless decat exhaust

BMC CDA Filter

PoloAce Chip by Alan (Top bloke and a big shout out)

Ran 124bhp at the CP rolling road with 120lb Torque

Then came the GTI Spring Fest

Its 5th Gearbox in the space of 30 Months =/

and at £550 a rebuild i had enough.

So at this point i decided to grab my balls and go head first into a 1.8T Conversion.

I slowly started collecting parts and this is where i stand today after starting about 6 weeks ago.

Various odds and sods that i need but cant think of them atm.

I work at Rolls-Royce in derby so i know my way around engineering and fabricating, so ill be making the driveshafts, engine mounts custom fab on the engine bay etc etc. Got a few little things that I'm gonna throw into the car that will make it abit more desireable.

I realise this might not be to everyones taste but I'm not doing this to please anyone in anyway, I'm doing it to prove to myself that i can do and ill be happy with it and if your happy with it then thats a bonus

So thats where I'm leaving it atm, i will update over the next few days but all my time is taken so i only get chance to come on here at work.

Small update, the polo is booked in for Mid July for Painting including a few touches such as deleting bits/ smoothing just small details and arch flaring. Keeping it Black Magic Pearl aswell love the colour to much :) Will have a big update soon.

My deadline for this is August 31st as i have a bet with a few lads from work

Oh and i did have these on but moved to borbets now.....

SHIT. I've actually only just noticed man. They seem the perfect size for the job, I've been looking around for a long while and they came in a the right spec in all honesty....maybe its something about the combination?

it was on the cover of PVW in 05, I've been approached by a couple of photographers (fast car mag took that pic) but I don't want it featured yet, it's in bits again being made even better :)

Something to bear in mind though, there's well over £20k in my car, haha.

Oh right, I'm guessing you want it perfect before anything like that happened? I'm not doing my for a feature or anything like that just generally wanted to prove myself i can do it and prove other people too

£20k......i dont like that figure but again yours is an excellent example.

Mine stands me at £3k atm with all the parts, donor car and the Polo included.

Right after 4 hours of grafting the other night managed to get the block and box out. Big shout out to Andy B as we didnt get chance to get the engine crane so lifting the engine out consisted of a sling, 2 eyebolts and a peice of steel box section and 2 hefty chaps

Split the box off when we got it out and found out where it had broke at Spring Fest seeing as its been sat there....

Well a little update but unfortunatley no pictures....I've just bought a few more things off the bay to tide me over while me and my uncle rebuild the 1.8t block.

Should be getting my wheels back this week so can start moking those up so i know how much to pull/roll the arches ready for the bodyshop end of june

Still trying to find some seats but money flow issues have started but payday tomorow to gonna get those sorted this month!

Hoping high should have the engine at least bolted in and a rolling chassis by mid July.

I've sold it mate to a lad jonnyattwood on here was sweet as a nut when it was running so glad its gone to a good home :)

Just ordered some cheapish FK buckets to get me away as the last set of seats i had were borowed CL spec so bought a pair of FK's for £150 in black so they'll go nicely with my harnesses :)

Saw the Daz the wheel refurber today, turned out my borbets had 5 layers of paint on! Nice especially when I'm having polished lips....he was not happy to say the least but they'll be ready tomorow so should have some pics for guys.

OKay got my wheels back friday after the refurbers had to put a hell of alot of effort getting textured paint off them all =/

Yeah well its getting sprayed up this month and just getting a few more bits and bobs togther and waiting for alot of parts in the post =/
