Sorry to dissapoint guys but progress is stupidly slow at the minute. I have although got alot done.

- Toyo Proxie 195/40/16s for the borbets are fitted.

-GTI rear disc set up is all cleaned up new seals and painted with a set of new brembo discs and pads

-G60 front set up again cleaned new seals and painted with new brembo discs and pads

-Seats arived and bolted up to subframes with harnesses

Picked up a set of steelies and standard shocks for her to go into GBR customs on the 1st so just getting her ready for that, glass out, back to stock height etc and abit of a sharp eye for any small dents and smoothing I'm having done :)

May be getting my engine mounts done by The Phirm aswell as thats going to be the most crucial part in my eyes though it is £740..... but i think it may be worth spending in all honesty.

Next time i update it will be a big one.....fingers crossed.

Me and the father strapped up the polo saturday and off she went to have a 2 week long date with Gary and GBR Customs, this guy really knows his stuff and has done work on Ferraris and Maseratis etc so I'm sure he'll be fine with the Polo ;)

Heres some interesting images :)

Decided instead of spending £100 odd on a decent strut brace I'm home brew one as the cheap alloy ones arent going to stop me flying through the windscreen if i crash, as my harnesses will be around it so pure steel for me, cost nothing so cant complain :)

At last abit of bodyshop update, the guys at GBR Customs are having my car for around 4 weeks. This is is because Gary who owns the firm has recognised that this is a big deal for them as its the first show car full respray they have done since opening so he wants it absolutely perfect and I've said I'm in no rush as i want a top notch job plus gives me time to sort other things out such as my brakes among other parts on the endless list.

So here are a few pictures of what they have done in 3 days, I'm going up tomorow so should have a few more progress pictures as these are from last tuesday!

I would of put this update up sooner but been of work since last tuesday due to it being my birthday on friday so treated myself to a few messy days off. basically wasted from wednesday till monday :D and spent way tooooooo much in the stripclub on friday :/ but sooooo worth it ;)

Anyway..... won this on ebay last tuesday aswell for a grand price of £820, after taking it for a test drive and had a really anal look around it...it was perfect. The body work is absolutely terrible id go as far to say that my 1988 Jetta had better bodywork on it! but its got a full service history and the engine runs sweet as a nut! really is lovely to drive. Its done 124K but she'll be getting rebuilt over winter and few extra touches aswell, ill stop blabbing and let the pictures talk....

oh and the Orange Nissan 350z in the picture is my dads and were having a showdown at the Pod when shes done, i wanna wipe the smile off his face!....maybe...

Bit more of a bodyshop update for you all, the guys at GBR have been slaving away getting every crease and small dent and imperfection out the panels. the worst part has been sorting out my rotting back arches, the old have been cut and ground out and new ones fitted and now all smoothed in again.

Here are a few pictures anyway.

Boot lid with Handle and Badge recess deleted.

Okay so seeing as i haven't put anything up in a looooongg while a very small update on what I've been doing with myself and the car...

Well to start it off got the polo back from GBR last tuesday and I'm happy to say looks amazing! Theres still the roof and engine bay to paint yet as they are going to same colour as my wheels ;) but waiting till I've done all my mounts then going back in asap. Still need to get hold of some 6n2 roofstrips aswell so if anyones got any let me know.

You can just see the Block sat on the right ;)

Last week i spent forever with my mate Dan (the man) stripping out the Audi and finally got the whole loom out of it on the wednesday and then weighed it in on thursday :) Also took out the gear linkage among so other bits that i or my mates wanted.

and this is what I'm left with...

WP_000657 by mattnaz, on Flickr

I've been ordering alot of bits atm but my cash seems to have ran out so gotta slow down till payday =/, ordered all the bits to convert my gearbox, a mate of mine happend to have a helix clutch, g60 flywheel and a K04 manifold so i have all those now, a 4 Bar Fuel Pressure Regulator, still need a 225 MAF and a set of 225 injectors among other stupid bits and bobs... oh and i bought a brand new K04-22 :)

K04 at the top and old K03 at the bottom picture doesnt really do justice on how much bigger the K04 really is...

Looking good :p

question to both you and harry - whats your budget on this for the project, not including stuff like paint???? though how much you spent on the donor cars would be interesting

looking forward to these projects as it will be where mine goes in the long run as I'm currently running the 120ish bhp valver as you both did before hand

Hi Sean, I budgeted 3,500 for everything but as I have found out I've slipped under that at the moment as a few parts where slightly more expensive etc.

I didn't buy a donor car though as I thought it was a bit over the top and expensive so got only the complete engine with loom but without a gearbox as I wanted to run a diesel box.

I have a full list of parts, prices and where to get the custom parts from for cheap as I done a lot of research before I started.

Sounds good mate, If I see you at a meet when it's done I'll take you out and convince you to do it :p

If you need any info drop me a message :) i don't mind helping out!

Cheers

Harry

Sean, I've done it a different way to harry as i bought the full donor car as i thought it would be easier as I'm using the Audi clocks and most of the audi electrical system. The A3 cost my £820 ebay special the bodywork was horendous but the its got full service history for the engine and all the work its had done and thats what made me buy it. Its done 124k but will be rebuilt when i have the time and money.

I haven't really budgeted as such but thats not because I'm "rolling in it" because I'm not its because whatever you need you need and have to buy it if you get me.

If you want a full price breakdown pm me and ill send it you all of what I've got now, but ebay is definetley your friend as I've found. Bits can be picked up next to nothing. My cossie intercooler was £18 and my brand new K04 was £200 with a warranty.

PM or Harry if you want any info i'd be happy to help.

Cheers, Matt

Right, a few more bits have turned up in the post and did abit of test fitting, just waiting on vw for my turbo gasket so can now start mocking up so the engine will sit in the right place and then can weld in the mounts and she'll be back off to the bodyshop to have the paint finished :)

Heres some picture for now;

APX manifold that i had chemically cleaned, grit blasted then painted it in matt black VHT paint.

Hydraulic to Cable clutch conversion parts just missing 1 or 2 that are on back order in germany as theyve taken them out of production but they're making another 10 and then stopping them again might be months untill there all here =/

you need a vr6 maf tube with agu probe fitted bud.

i think you may struggle using all the clocks from the a3 in the polo, there are alot of wires and have to communicate with the key and ecu.

maybe easier just using the engine loom and splicing it into the 6n loom, it's not as hard as you'd imagine.

your K04 looks odd though, k04 should have 10 blades on the impeller, k03 has 12 and k03s has 8.

oh i threw out a derv box with the adaptor for cable to hydro :crybaby:

you don't have to weld any mounts either bud, use a combo of mounts including parts from mk7 gti 1.8t
