Tips on removing transponder RFID chip?

Hi all i will shortly need to remove the transponder glass chip from a standard key and to put it in a new flip key which i have already programmed to open and close the doors. i know where it is and where it will fit on new flip key.

I need some tips on how to remove it from the old vw standard key

I haven't had to do this myself, but 'm pretty sure you just pop it open along the seam, butt here might be a screw underneath the vw logo, so have a look there first

ok mate I'm not to worried about placing the transponder into the flip its taking it out of the standard key

That's what he's saying! :p You work your way along the old key with a blunt knife (along the seam) and it'll work open..

Just take out the old chip, it's been glued in, so cut the plastic of the key around it to get it out, then file it down. Don't try and lever it out, it will snap.

Been there, done that. :p

thats for tthe input guys i managed to take out the transponder it took ages to do was so careful still got 1 more key to do
