silver 1.4 8v

Hi, I thought it was about time I showed my polo on here after owning my 6n for 9 months and my mk3 gt for 3 months before that.

I baught my polo of here with some cheap rusty 50mm lowering springs and more importantly schmitd modernline wheels. after a while I refurbed the wheels with a grey centre. I got an exhaust of a mate but after about 2 weeks I reversed into a curb bending most of the exhaust. So I made myself a side exit with a de-cat using bits of pipe I had. This is soon to be changed as I have a centre section with a silencer in at work that I'm going to make a new system out of.

Next I got some second hand coilovers to close the arch gap abit. These are t a techniks and I was suprised at how good the ride is with the helpers left in, I can't go too low as the arch scrubs the tyre.

I also found a sharkfin Ariel at work so bolted that on as I haven't seen this on any other polo.

So the current spec of the car is this:

Model: polo 6n 1.4 8v 1998

Engine: de-cat, side exit, polished rocker cover, 139,400 miles on the clock

Interior: 16v door cards, head unit, door and dash speakers, centre console reed, a total of 7 air fresheners,

Exterior: Audi shark fin Ariel, 16v bumpers, sticker bomb front badge and rear wiper blank, bonnet bra, de-bump stripped, few stickers, black mirrors,

Wheels and suspension: t a techniks coil overs approx 80mm down, schmitd modernline alloys, 195/45/15 tread, rs4 silver plastic dust caps instead of black,

That's all I can think of atm, its not much I like simple things. The cars going for a respray on Monday 27 June to have the bumper and door sprayed as paint has started peeling off where it was sprayed badly before, and the boot badge is being smoothed.

Other plans for this are:

Exhaust mani and new system with less blowing and less noise.

Rebuild head, does anyone know if a 1.6 8v head will work as I read they have bigger ports and valves but may lower the compression ratio, will this have drastic effects? Just doing it for abit of fun really and to see what happens out of curiosity.

Seat cordorba/mk3 golf splitter,

Fix broken passenger electric window.

pass m.o.t due on 24th June

Will get pics up ASAP.

Failed the mot on a few things. Steering column adjuster broke, exhaust too loud and parts missing (side exit), front indicator bulbs discoloured, rear wheel bearing has play, hand brake not working(snapped), and a furry below 1.6mm. I was really annoyed and went out looking for a new car I was going to scrap it.

But today I changed my mind, I got the day off work, went to the scrappy and got a new steering column adjuster, iv taken the carpets out ready to fix the hand brake lever, and the rest I will sort out tomorow.

So the little polo will get a second chance.
