Hi there, I have a MK2 polo (89) model its has a panasonic 493 radio cassette deck (what would have originaly come with late mk2s) since installing a graphic equilizer i can hear the engine noise coming out of the speakers over the top of any music ect, does anyone know how i can get rid of this?? i was told it could be the noise of the alternator and i could wire the negative to the rear of the car and it should go away, i just wanted to know if anyone knows if that would get rid of the noise or if there is anything else i could try???

If you still get problems, connect a 100volt 1Mfd capacitor between the alternator output terminal and a good earth.

(You can buy purpose made ones with a mounting bracket from audio most audio shops.)
