I've had a claim pending for the last year and 7 months the turn out was a 50/50 where the third party agrreed to pay a cheque after this i got a letter (a month later then what was stamped on it) from the 3rd party claiming they wanted to inspect the car. Yes thats right a year and a half after the crash they want to check the car what burk would keep a written off car road legal and outside there house for that time is beyond me. Even though my insurance said to skip this process all i needed was the pictures and the quotations and thats exactley what i did, besides my insurers had already inspected the car and agreed it was a write off so for the third party to have a look is needless. I think i can get round this again by handing the forms to the other party.

They also want proof to show it was registered to me (what means nothing), and proof it was fully road legal at the time of the accident. So obviously i have none of these forms apart from the tiny slip i had from when i purchased it proving the car was in my name.

I've checked direct gov for the full m.o.t history, and the latest m.o.t dates from 09/2008 - 09/2009, this is completley false as i know 100% i got the mot for 2009 - 2010. So this means i have no proof of m.o.t for the date of the accident.

Is there anyway i could get proof that i had the car m.o.t'ed?

would the garages still hold record of m.o.ts that far back?

Is there a way to find about previouse tax? I'm sure they'd want that as well

Also if i fail to provide this info will i have to take full blame?

i cant believe there making me fight so hard for a 50/50 claim its bad enough my no claims are going to be screwed...grr

Phone up DVLA and tell them what you told us and ask about mots ect..
