6n openair

Ok so got a standard 6n we all know what they look like ect

it was a 1.6 1995 and was in real good nick with 97000 on it.

got some new lights and but the badged grill back on good clean to !

new bulbs

got a valver rear and started a weeee bit of smoothing

test in paint match, pretty good

new caps

then someone attcked my car

tryed a de-badge grill

how i rolled for a bit

needed some lows

A car me and my friend stumbled upon.

gave the steels a fresh look.

I then came into contact with a VERY LARGE badger which mashed the 8v bumper, you may be able to see it.

Got a front 16v and got a mk3 golf splitter which took ages fit flush

Bent wishbone anyone, Went round a corner in the snow and the car didnt turn. Great. Got hold of a wishbone the next day though

AND THEN THIS HAPPENED.

SLAMMED!

This is what happens when a Landrover crashes into you at 15/20 mph. Write off :(. I then stripped her and scrapped her :( made £400 odd quid from bitss and scrap.

So moving on. I had around £500 for a new car so i started hunting and came across this little gem for £450 :) Its a 1.4 openair and has got 87000 on the clock. In real good condition apart from a slight scuff in the drivers wing and it also needed new clocks as the speedo wouldnt work. I also got 2 sets of alloys with it and some clear indies :p

So the plans with this car are just to go for a clean look, lows (dependant if i can afford the insurance!), wheels, and generally keeping it in good nick :)

gave the car a dam good clean inside took all the carpet up and found a few things....

The story with my first car is on the 23rd december when we had all the snow i needed to make a journy to Guildford. I ventured out and went down the country lanes. I was going along when i noticed some idiot had left there wheelie bin like half way in the road. I slammed it in to first to slow down instead of slamming the brake so i didnt slide. I got round the wheelie bin and then a landrover dicovery came flying over at like 15 mph thinking he was the man and went straight into me :( my cars writtrn off, his has a broken indicator light. He then tried blamming it on me! And tryed telli.g the insurance his chassis was bent bull****. Took 4 months yo sort out and i havnt been driving for 6 month :( but this friday ill be insured again :).

I also have an orignal pg tips monkey too on the parcel shelf ill get a picie up tommrrow

And 4x4 drivers are absolutely useless. They think just cause they have 4wd they're tyres will grip on ice...what a bellend

Right wondering if someone could help! my gearbox is shagged and iv been quoted £950 to get a new one put it on and clutch! does this sound about right? all help would be appreciated greatly!

So not updated in a while not that anyone is bothered but hey ho.

Iv had a recon gearbox which cost 500 smackers also a new waterpump and cambelt.

Sorted my 6n2 rears out so they sit flush and messed around with a few other bits.

And the new problemmmmmmmmmm. My oil light came on the other day a bleeeped at me. I checked the oil and water etc and all is fine. Stayed fine for a while but every now and again now the engine sometimes cuts out ? anyone got an idea of what it could be ?

Little up-date in whats been happening

Managed to sort out the problem of it cutting out all the time and then not being able to re- start etc.

No real progress as its wet and horrible, but have done my headlining black and will do the pillars at some point.

I'm also on the look out for a new openair roof too as mine has been leaking horrifically over these last few months on rain.
